I agree with all posters that Lansing would be the preferred choice for all to show up in large number. I’m thinking of calling/emailing Frank Beckman on AM 760 WWJ to spread the news also. Video camera and youtube sound good, would be better if some media came.

media is what you make it. If the radio stations won’t cover, call it in the next morning. If the newspapers won’t write it, send a letter to the editor. If the TV stations won’t broadcast it, viral video the images. Even if you share your experiences with friends, families, chat room associates, co-workers, etc., you become a medium of expression which can’t be censored.

we are holding a tea party in Albany and the Corning Preserve on April 15th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Yes, we are working folks who have to take the day off, which makes it even harder to get large numbers to show. We NEED large numbers! Some of these parties perhaps we can consolidate?

I’m from Sutton does someone have a Tea Party organized for Hastings or G.I. I’m very interested in attending one if there’s one locally.
I think the empty form with the words NO MORE TEA or any protesting words would be good. Think about it. Everyone pays their taxes because we are law abiding but, we also send another form with the words written on it. That will slam the IRS as they have to open every single envelope that is received and the point will be taken. They are not going to like what we are telling them but they must open each and every envelope no matter. Putting a tea bag there would give it away although that must also be delivered as it might contain someones tax return. I have already filed but will still send one from each member of my family. That would be 4 forms of NO MORE TEA FROM ME.
Everyone should call or e-mail their reprenentatives and invite them to attend. Flood their phones and e-mails so they will have to take notice. Cant hurt.

One april 15th our small community is planning a courthouse lawn protest at noon and we will caravan to a bigger party, hopefully in Pittsburg, KS or Johnson County. We always hear that these people work for us. We need to take that at face value and start making them answer to us. We start by making them come to us for a raise and benefits. How many of you get to raise your own pay by NOT voting for it. We need to make them come to us and put their pay raise to a vote. We all know that it will get voted down each and every time. How many of them will want to be a career politician then? No more need for term limits. The ones that do run will be there for a short time to do some good and move on.

Its past time for Americans to stand up to their rights and get back to what the Constitution really stand for. What government is doing is going against and rewriting it for their own advantage. We must stand firm and tell them its over.

There are important issues that aren’t being addressed. This list shouldn’t be called “a morning cup of tea”. Our Fathers DUMPED tea into Boston harbor. This should be called “Coffee break”….or some other title suggesting not drinking tea.
In reality I don’t see this tea party movement having anything of substance to say. Specifically, there should be the following points.
1. No more bailouts of any corporation or individual and the return of all bailout monies.
2. Inactment of HR 1207 to audit the Federal Reserve.
3. Abolish the Federal Reserve which is the source and cause of all inflation and our money problems.
4. Strict adherance to the Constitution.
5. End all of the undeclared wars- Iraq and Afghanistan ARE NOT declared wars and are therefore unConstitutonal.
6. End the unConstitutional Partriot act and it’s demestic spying on ALL of our electronic communications.
7. End FISA courts
8. End the MCA (Military Commissions Act)
9. Abolish the IRS
10. Return to a Constitutionally mandated form of money per Art. 1. Sect. 8 (preferably a Gold standard).
11. End ALL foreign aid
12. Close ALL U.S. military bases overseas and bring all of the troops home.
Unless these points are directly addressed, declared and told to Congress this movement is merely a “feel good” do nothing effort.

Far out !! I am bringing my two young children with me to witness this event. They and the rest of our country need to see first hand what a grassroots revolution by the people, of the people and for the people is all about. If you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything. Put aside your political party affiliation and put your efforts together with all the other citizens who are about to take the biggest shafting of their lives if this administration is not stopped. It’s not you and me, the taxpayers, against each other… it’s truly us against them. United we stand, divided we fall. If they can get us to fight with each other then they win.

Do you believe that with a recession in place when Bush took office, 9-11, Katrina etc.etc. happening that we actually GREW AND HAD A HAY DAY for the first SIX YEARS of this administration. Did you also know as I do having been in construction for over 30 years that we have an economic down turn every 8 to 10 years? AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL JO ON IS THAT WE ARE GOING SOCIALIST AND AMERICA IS ASLEEP. Wow! I am a third generation Air Force brat and my husband retired after serving 20 yrs in these dangerous terrifying times. You summed it up for me and probably a lot of other vets and said it so eloquently. With your permission I would like to copy and paste this into an email and send it to everyone I know. I couldn’t have said it any better and believe me I have been trying to articulate these feelings of anger, betrayal and outrage at our government. Congressional term limits is a beginning. The Democrats are giving money away faster than it can be printed and The Republicans set and whine with no plan at all. God bless our great nation! If I had a wish, it would be to immediately replace ALL INCUMBENTS IN CONGRESS. If the American public does not stand up and be “counted”, and demand changes, our country eventually will financially fail.
So far this year the stock market and our 401K’s do not mix with socialism. The Obama administration must be stopped in its tracks if we want to maintain our standard of living that we have now. I am not a community organizer but I definitely want to help preserve our conservative values that made USA the best country in the world. To Mark, please! Spending on the “right” things like education and health. Already billions are dumped into the failing government run education system. The Washington DC schools spend $14,000 per student and look where that got them. The money for education is payback to the Teacher’s Union.
A one payer system for health care is unsustainable. It is rationed health care. In Canada, the system does not cover prescriptions or dental. (prescriptions if you are in the hospital). An aquaintance had a condition in her feet similar to carple tunnel in the wrists. She ended up in a wheel chair because she had to wait more than a year for the surgery. This is just a couple of small examples. And Canada has a much smaller population. Another example is Poland, anyone over 70 who gets cancer cannot get treatment.
So Bush did spend too much and the solution is to triple that spending?? In the end, the government is the problem. We do not need more of it!!
I just heard that Congress just passed the GIVE Act with a Mandatory Service requirement for Elementary and Middle School Children. I heard this on Savage…I can not confirm this since the Page with the Bill text appears to be crashing over the amount of people reading it…..

Could it be that President Obama wants to flood the American economy with so many dollars that it becomes worthless, therefore, the need for a new world currency and a new world order? It plays into his socialist agenda for the United States. The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of someone else’s money. Get wise America before it’s too late.

While everyone (except AIG employees) is up in arms over the bonuses we paid them with our tax money, why do we let Congress get nice raises each and every year? And it’s not what we would pay them, they’re the ones who decide how much they’re worth. They need to freeze their own wages.
They should also be paying into Social Security. If they want to legislate it, they should be part of it like the rest of us are. Before they vote on anything, our representatives should poll their constituents. We’re the ones they work for. They act as if they work for the big corporations who donate to their campaigns, and not the little people.
With prices going up every day, it’s a stretch for us to pay for the medications we need. I’m not asking for someone to pay the price for me, but I’d like some relief on the costs of a lot of things. We purchased a house that we could afford, while half of the people in this town have homes that are being foreclosed. But they talk about bailing the people with the foreclosures out. How fair is that to those of us who have used our heads and played by the rules?
I don’t think any of this has anything to do with political parties, but after reading some of these posts, it’s beginning to sound like we could have a civil war again - this time over politics! Middle and lower class people are all in this together, but we’re not acting like it. I think Americans began to wake up and watch what’s going on when our congress voted NOT to make English our national language. If they had, we could get rid of the “Push 1 for English” and if you don’t push that number the voice automatically goes to Spanish. And why did they vote to give them Social Security benefits when they never paid into it? Pretty soon that same Congress could begin to collect Soc.Sec. too!
Our country is a mess right now. I write to my Senators and Representatives whenever they’re about to vote on something big. And at the end of my letter I always say “And please don’t forget that you represent me.” We should all begin to remind them of that simple fact.

Once we can all decide there is plenty of blame at both parties to go around and it is not a party issue, and that we are watching them our elected officials wll do what we the people want. most people don’t see that our politicians want this division to see that we are all thoroughly distracted and pinned against each other.

If you can seriously think of one program our govt has implemented and maintained well for over 20 years then I may consider allowing the govt to take over every facet of my life. It is not that conservatives don’t want healthcare and we don’t want education monies to be spent…you are very wrong. It is that we at the core do not believe the govt can manage anything well let alone the most serious-healthcare and education. Medicare has tripled our healthcare costs not just for seniors but for everyone..everytime the govt gets involved it ruins the very thing it tries to help. Social Security, SEC. medicare, welfare,
Bottom line is both parties not just Bush are all culpable ..it is so easy to just say Bush did it and A COP OUT FOR THE MUSH FOR BRAINS THAT REPEAT THIS OVER AND OVER !
You want some bureaucrat dictating when you can go to the doctor? What treatments you get? That is how it is in Canada, England, and those systems are almost bankrupt.

I will be attending two tea party rallies. But I think we should all tak it one step further and be sure to take the day off without pay. A simple rally march will not get the attention of our politicians. We need to hit them where they will feel it. And if the country starts to take time off, they will feel it. That is what the original tea party was about. They went a step further and hit them where it hurt. A simple demonstration, against a liberal government will not make the papers. I don’t expect the modern day tea party to get much press at all. Lets hit them wher it hurts.

Some of the commenters above, besides using juvenile name-calling, are putting forward an exceptionally weak argument.
That argument is that a person who did not protest when government spending got to a certain level has no right to speak out or protest when government spending goes to an even higher level.
I’m sure most people recognize how weak this argument is: If I don’t take an aspirin when I have a headache, does that mean I’m not entitled to take an aspirin when my headache gets a lot worse? Of course not.
I do agree that not speaking up against bloated government in the last decade is one of the reasons that the Obama administration felt like they could dramatically escalate the amount of government spending, the amount of the federal deficit, and so on. I suppose the Obama administration didn’t realize that people would object to this.
Evidently, they miscalculated.
I am so sick of dem vs. rep, we are all American citizens. If we don’t get a handle on our govt. reps we are all going to fail. Bush or Obama , I really don’t care who is at fault ,I want the right thing for our country as a whole, for my kids. Common sense has been lost , greed & competition between the 2 parties has taken over our govt. If true and honest competition was left in the business sector and not w/all this you scratch my back & I’ll scratch yours between govt. & businesses, the business would not be too big to fail. The govt. official are making their nest , they should be limited on 1 term instead they are growing their wealth at our expense. Common sense was if you don’t do a good job you are fired , you don’t give yourself a raise , your employer does, if you do something illegal you are punished. I don’t want a self absorbed person coming in my home and taking over our long term financial affairs for the future of my family yet that is what our govt. is doing. Common sense also tells us you do not spend more than you can afford to pay back. I’m not going to run up credit and go ask my kids or my neighbors kids to pay the bill because I , IRRESPONSIBLY
SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY.
This president has shown his true colors. He is a socialist and I will never swallow his destructive reforms. Social welfare consumes wealth. It does not create it. He will take the dollar down with it. If you think socialized medicine is a step in the right direction you are wrong. You always get what you pay for even in surgery. This country is not unified. The hardworking, self responsible silent majorities back is against the wall and we are fighting back. This has only begun. You havenet seen anything yet.
I support the president, just not the mission to destroy Democracy & move the country toward more Socialism. Remember those words when we spoke of our military and the War on Terror against Sadam and Osama? I believe we need to cut the Feds spending on social services to make his investment in infrastructure, that’s the way it works in my household.
James thats the exact mentality that is bringing down America. Right now we need unity. It is like the Republican party is rooting for OUR PRESIDENT to fail. In case you haven’t noticed he is the president of the same country you and I live in. If the economy goes under it’s everyones problem. The republicans are using the excuse Bush was over-criticized; so they are going to root for Obama to fail so he faces the same scrutiny. A little support of OUR PRESIDENT should be in order. He has been in office what 2 months? and conservatives are already fighting him. The partisanship of this country is ridiculous especially among conservatives. We need unity, not more fighting.

It’s amazing how the Republicans have no problem acting like sheep when Bush is out there giving billion dollar contracts to his buddies that have NO fiscal responsibility and starts a war so all his buddies can become uber-millionaires, but as soon as the wealth is put towards education and health care all the sudden they want to remember 1776. Where the heck were all of you when Bush was allowing Wall Street to give millions of dollars to the elite few who were playing with mortgage fire? Where were you while they were stealing pension funds? Where were you when Blackwater was disappearing millions of war dollars into their back pockets? You seem to think patriotism is only worth touting when your side loses. If you had held people accountable when Bush was spending trillions of dollars, we wouldn’t be in this situation to begin with.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous ideas ever thought of. Not only is this further dividing our nation it is contradicting any positive movement forward toward fixing this problem that CONSERVATIVE ECONOMICS got us into. Trickle down economics is to blame not one man not one party but the theory. This movement is one of the reasons America is falling from its greatness.
