Kansas: Salina: Romm estimated 500 people had gathered to protest the tax-and-spend — or is it borrow-and-spend, or borrow-and-stimulate, or borrow-and-bail — policies of the federal government. Many in the crowd carried signs with such sayings as “Don’t Tread on Me,” “Give us Liberty, not debt,” and “Obama and Pelosi, the Detrimental Duo.”

North Carolina: Thousands of protesters across North Carolina are using tax day to show their distaste for government spending and federal bailouts. From Charlotte to Edenton, more than two dozen towns and cities saw protesters holding “tea parties” on Wednesday. A 50-year-old chemical supplier echoed other protesters’ concerns when he said the government must stop spending money it doesn’t have. He said his daughters will shoulder the debt.

Ohio: Cleveland: The Tea Party rally on Mall C next to City Hall drew an estimated 1,500 participants. “You don’t spend your way to prosperity,” he said. “You can’t do that. You have to create revenue, and you’re never going to do that by growing government instead of businesses.”

Texas: Today a Tax Day Tea Party brought hundreds of voices to the Grayson County Court House steps to protest government spending, big business, and tax increases. The protesters were mad, saying they were upset with the way the government is spending their hard earned money. “I don’t believe in what’s going on in Washington today. I don’t like the bails outs and I don’t like the stimulus.”

California: Temecula: Hundreds of loud, colorful and occasionally angry protesters carried signs and shouted slogans around Temecula’s duck pond today, as they demonstrated against what they saw as creeping socialism threatening the American way of life. “BACK AWAY FROM MY WALLET!” screamed one sign, “DON’T TAX ME BRO!” read another. An elderly man wore a blue shirt with “No We Can’t!” emblazoned on back. People paraded about in colonial attire under a sea of flags, including many that said “Don’t Tread on Me.”

Montana: Hundreds of protesters lined the downtown streets of Missoula to say they won’t take it anymore. People up and down the road held flags, signs, and banners and many people driving by honked their horns. “Fire Congress…No more bailouts, everybody is concerned with the bailouts, they’re spending more money than they can ever pay back,” said Corvallis resident, James McKoy. “Our politicians don’t listen to us, so we have no choice but to take to the streets.”

Georgia: Hundreds rally in Middle Georgia - “The bigger the government gets, the more people will depend on government. Once the money runs out, then people will be left like third-world countries and America’s headed in that direction,” said Melissa Stanley.

Michigan: Lansing: About 4,000 people protested government bailouts and tax increases outside the Michigan Capitol today in what was believed to be the biggest protest in a number of years. Protesters waived signs exclaiming “Stop the Fiscal Madness,” “Read My Lipstick! No More Bailouts” and “The Pirates Are in D.C.”

Nevada: Carson City: An estimated 2,000 anti-tax advocates gathered in Carson City, Nevada, Wednesday, joining protesters at state Capitols, in neighborhoods and town squares across the country. Protesters waived signs exclaiming “Stop the Fiscal Madness,” “Read My Lipstick! No More Bailouts” and “The Pirates Are in D.C.” … Las Vegas: Over a thousand people attended a tax protest “tea party” at Sunset Park.

Virginia: Charlottesville - The Pavilion had hundreds of sign-carrying, mad-as-heck citizens gathered on the day Uncle Sam demands his taxes. And they turned out to let him know what they thought. Mention the $787 billion stimulus package and the boos were automatic.

Colorado: Cannon City - About a hundred people lined the sidewalks along Highway 50 and 9th St. The energized group waved signs and Americans flags. They’re anger about the bailouts and what they call wasteful government spending. “It’s not fair that he’s taking all the money that we gave for our taxes to use for people who don’t really need it,” said Liz Phillips, a protester in Canon City. “And we can’t spend our way out of this.”

South Carolina: Thousands of South Carolinians who are fed up with federal spending rallied at the Statehouse. TEA stands for “Taxed Enough Already”. Similar parties were held in Donwtown Charleston, Georgetown, Greenville, Spartanburg, Simpsonville and Greenwood. Protesters were holding signs like “Congress And Obama Are Bankrupting America” and “Stop Spending What We Don’t Have”. Their biggest concerns are the stimulus plan and government spending in general.

Florida: Naples - An estimated 3,000 people congregated for several blocks along U.S. 41 in the mid-afternoon heat. Many had tea bags hanging from their hats and posters with phrases such as “keep your change.” Others wore t-shirts, such as one that read “You can’t spend your way out of debt!”

New York: More than 1,000 gathered at Albany’s Corning Preserve along the Hudson River, carrying American flags and anti-tax signs and singing patriotic songs. Some dressed in Revolutionary War garb and one dressed as Uncle Sam. About 300 to 400 people listened to speeches and marched around the James F. Hanley Federal Building at a noontime rally in downtown Syracuse. In Rome, a tea party protest was planned outside Fort Stanwix. In Buffalo, a rally across from City Hall attracted a crowd of about 150 office workers, citizen activists and parents with children. Some carried signs with messages such as “I am not your ATM.”

Delaware: Delmarva: “We’re having a peaceful protest against excessive taxation and asking our elected representatives to spend our money more responsibly,” said Donna Gordan, one of the event’s planners. “They’re putting our grandkids and great-grandkids into debt just through the spending, the needless spending. That’s what we’re here for,” said protester Eric Anderson.

Im with everyone that was at one of this tes party today, we have the right to over throw the government if they are screwwing up which they are in the fullest way. you can not barrow yourself out of dedit, we all now that. we need to more forward and tell them all to give up some of their money, and work all year long not only 6 month or so. Please do not let this die , because we are in deep trouble now and we can fix it if we stand together and win our nation back

We went to the Charleston, SC tea party today. Reports on TV said there were about 5,000 people in attendance including Governor Sanford and Senator Tom DeMint. People were very motivated for change that included repealing the stimulus bill and letting the people vote on it as well as term limits for Congress. And everyone wanted to stop the spending NOW! If Congress and the White House don’t hear us now, they are going to be voted out of office. We the People have spoken!

I was racing, tax returns in hand, to make the last pick up at the post office when The Beatles’ “Tax Man” came on. Smiling and thinking how prophetic the old song was, I rounded the bend near Pray Park in Waterville, Ohio (Rts 24 & 64), to find a crowd of people from this small village on the banks of the Maumee River, gathered in protest. Trust me…I’ve lived southwest of here and have driven this route for 10 years; I’ve never seen anyone at Pary Park, much less a rally like this. Didn’t seem to be organized; only an impromtu gathering of citizens. Amazing…they’re demonstrating what I’ve been thinking. If I weren’t so tired from trying to meet the filing deadline, I’d have stopped and joined them.

    OKC estimates were around 7k.

Here’s a picture of about 1/3 of the crowd, it was hard to get from where I was standing.

I live in St. Louis and am going to the STL tea party. I just checked Fox News 2 in STL and they’re very low-key about this event. It appears the “most viewed” tracker feature is broken or rigged, since it lists the event as the 15th most viewed story, and even lower and most emailed. More evidence of the blatant censorship of “we the people” who are most concerned with the direction in which our nation is being MISguided…
