CNN Sucks … in The Union News

logo

The Union News blog has covered critiques of Tax Day Tea Party event news coverage since before April 15. Here’s an excerpt from a spectator.org story from today:

CNN Sucks … And then there’s reporter Susan Roesgen. Thank you so much for unveiling your scorn while playing tea party in Chicago. You made yourself famous by demonstrating what a poor playmate you are and thus how much CNN really does suck. You recited the JournoList script admirably, but unfortunately for you pulled the short straw at the assignment desk, and thus your performance was judged before a nation of tax-resisting Simon Cowells. Sorry, no save for you this week. While activists exercised their outspokenness against big spending, overtaxing, and over-regulating government, Susan Roesgen (thumbs up for Bush-Hitler; thumbs down for Obama-Hitler), Anderson Teabagger and even Ashton Kutcher helped them achieve a milestone that most of them don’t realize. It’s that the media formerly known as mainstream has seen its re-categorization completed. MSNBC, the New York Times, and other mainstream outlets joined CNN Sucks in either dissing or disregarding the tea party protests’ newsworthiness. They now belong with semi-known far left publications such the Nation, Mother Jones, and American Prospect. Glad you confirmed it, Susan Roesgen. (spectator.org)

    @b2theright….

Your comment on Maddow and Olbermann is just plain ignorant. You’re pissed because they have special sections for just how dumb hard-right conservatives are. Your queen Michelle Bachmann is a perfect example. She’s extremely dimwitted, kind of like a sorority girl. You know, having absolutely nothing to say and no opinion grounded in fact, but saying the first thing that comes to your head anyway?

Oh, and before you call someone a “know-nothing,” make sure you recognize the difference between “No” and “know.” Some tips: Get an education….But you hard righties aren’t to into that kind of thing, are you?

MAKE ALL THE NOISE YOU WANT, YOU TEABAGGERS ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CONSIDER YOUR POINT TO BE CREDIBLE!!

What this president is willing to be personally responsible as far as healthcare is concerned is just mind boggling. How can he actually say he will be responsible for this fiasco when he has kids of his own who will inherit his mess. Makes me wonder what the ultimate intent here is or what games these politicians are willing to play at the expense of the hard working American people.
I’ll be looking out for a tea party in my area so my entire family can share in the frustration with these politicians.

  3. James Cannon says:

Yes you did. Local cable companies can run adds in slots where they want. So, it was not Fox alowing CNN to advertise.Just some left wing cable operators trying to get Fox viewers. I bet you would not see then run a Fox ad on CNN.

Here in Birmingham, AL we has anywhere between 5 to 7 thousand. Folks were showing up long after it started because the traffic was backed up for miles!!

What an amazing site it was !!!!!

  4. John Stolte says:

I was sitting here tonight watching Fox. During the commercial break what do I see? WTF - a commercial for CNN featuring Anderson Cooper on Fox!

What is this? Somebody please tell me that I didn’t see CNN advertised on Fox.

  5. Kirk Gulick says:

Thanks Rose, I do use a few of these items and have some of these companies different products in my house. Looks like I’ll be doing some house cleaning. Let me know if you come up with any others that should be on the boycott list.

  6. Rose says:

    Some MSNBC sponsors to boycott:
Swiffer, General Mills, Ortho products, Ford, V8, Marriott hotels, Audi, MOR Furniture

    Some CNN sponsors to boycott:
Vonage, Progressive car insurance, Chase and Bank of America,HSBC Direct, Lilly drug company, Volkswagon, Sharper Image, AT&T, UPS, Honda, Quickbooks, Invisalign, AVIS, Video Professor, Tums, Travelocity, Jitterbug phones, Leading Tree

We can start there and find others to boycott.

  7. Kirk Gulick says:

As An American and Patriot of the United States of America, I was simply apalled by the coverage, comments, and derogatory remarks from all left wing liberal news agencies. They chose to criticize rather than cover the voices of Americans who for whatever reason, were invoking their 1st Amendment rights to free speech.
Whether you were there for taxes being too high, or protesting the Apology Tour, or perhaps it was bailouts for the various businesses, or maybe just the fact that Government is in public business at all, perhaps it was the bowing to a Muslim Saudi King, or just watching N. Korea and Iran continue to show progress in achieving weapons of mass destruction with no consequences at all, and list goes on and on and on…… of the things that we are concerned about and wanted to let President Obama and Congress know that WE ARE THE PEOPLE, and we are concerned.
Now I understand the argument of the left is, where were we the last 5-8 years when Bush and the Republicians were on their spending spree? I can only speak for myself, but I believe that most of the Patriots that attended the Tea Party Protests, were upset with both Political parties, and finally came to the breaking point as a result of all the factors listed above, plus some that I may have failed to mention.
People don’t mind CHANGE if it is for the better, but CHANGE that expands government, creates debt that our childrens children will be paying for, weakens our foreign political stance by apologizing and bowing before leaders and nations that don’t have our same interests, and choose to ignore actions that are an imminant threat to our Nation or our interests, is CHANGE we can’t and will not accept without our voice being heard.
I am with you Denise, I will boycott NBC, I am headed to my cable provider tommarrow to have ALL NBC channels and their affiliates blocked from my cable programming. This is just a start. My voice will be heard.

  8. Jim Fraser says:

The Orlando Tea Party had about 4,000 people or so. What a great turnout. We need to keep this effort growing and enlist everyone we can enlist. This is not about Rep or Dem this is about our Constitution and our responsibility for future generations.

  9. Will Stout says:

Why not target the obvious the MS part of MSNBC?

  10. joe says:

this is why this movement is all about the freedom to speak and as the reporter and all the others that dish our voices at the teaparty’s just like the numbers rateings, the govt also will see the numbers if we can keep up, so proud to be a american. Let’s NOT STOP NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Jim Gibler says:

Loved the ladies responce to CNN “reporter” (?) regarding the selfish display of bias. You ROCK!!!!! Lady!!!!!!!! Jim

  12. Denise says:

How about boycotting all GE products? Hit ‘em where it hurts. Several groups are doing this individually, but if We The People “announce” that’s what we’re doing, and all across the country, no one buys GE (which supplies all kinds of products) they’ll notice!

  13. B2theRight says:

Well if we are going after CNN we might as well go after MSNBC and HLN as well. They are just a critical of what we are trying to do. Especially that RACHEL MADDOW and OBLERMAN on MSNBC. What a couple of whole-hearted, liberal, no nothings!

  14. Bill Nelson says:

We had a good turn out in Modesto CA.
Through oout the day we had 4000 people show up.
I was proud to be an american. I think that this is a good opportunity for us to reach across the aisle and welcome people of all poilitcal stripes to this movement. It has been largely portayed as a right wing thing, I think it would send the people in washington a powerful message if we can set our politics aside and unite to demand a cessation on illegal taxation without representation.
I hope there is another protest in the planning stages soon. I dont think we should let any grass grow under our feet. I am proud to be one of the many that showed up to show our displeasure, however, much more needs to be done.

  15. matt says:

We need to change the name of the Movement and it should be the Patriot Movement!! We like our country the way it is! Stop changing our Morals! Stop Making us Weak among Nations! We were called Redneck tea baggers by a vulgar actress on NBC. We need to use the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Himself I have a dream that one day this nation will rise and sing.

That all men are created equal: black, white, red, or yellow or brown.

I have a dream, I have a dream, Let freedom ring.

“Let freedom ring! Let freedom ring!

from the Alleghenies to the red clay in Georgia, Let freedom ring!” We are not racists! We are not Rednecks! WE ARE PATRIOTS AND WE WANT NO MORE CHANGE!!

  16. Tony V says:

Happy to say Tucson, AZ was well represented w/approx 3800-4000, many animated/enthusiastic participants. What impressed me the most was the recognition/uncovering that our ‘liberties are being taken away’ by a charlatan and thugs…….keepup the good work……..

incidently I get about 4 good cups of TEA out of each TEA bag…..

  17. gigi says:

I attended the Tea Party in Chicago and was shocked to see the CNN news reported interviewing a father holding his young child, then disallowing him to complete his statement and made-up the story and tone of this peaceful, wonderful day where true Americans came out to let their voices be heard.

So happy to know that there are many more Americans that supported this cause and will continue to lead our compatriots in speaking out about this government.

  18. gigi says:

It is sickening that any reporter (Susan Roesgen) will not report, but make up the news the way they want it! Garafolo is just another example of corrupt lefties that make up their false impression of the position of law abiding, tax paying, free speaking Americans. Being attacked just like Sarah Palin and Joe, the plumber - its simply not American to out right attack each other without substance, without reason, and without moral consciousness. What a sick society!

I hope all Americans wake up and realize, there is no media reporting news, there is only anti-American sell-outs acting like news outlets. Only Fox presents the truth and most people think they are right biased and don’t trust them either. What a sick, sick mess. Good to know so many Tea Party attendees seek out and get the truth regardless of this stilted approach to reporting.

  19. Henry County, Ga. Patriot says:

I am so CHARGED! I attended the Atlanta Tea Party and feel so empowered to get our message out. That being; both the Republicans and Democrats SUCK, less Government, and follow the Constitution–it’s more than just a suggestion. Since it’s obvoius CNN still doesn’t get it, I want to encourage the Atlanta Tea Party organizers to think about having our next event at Centennial Park, conveniently located across from the CNN Center. If all they can do is send a low level “commentator” to the Chicago rally, then maybe the party needs to come to them.

To the Atlanta Tea Party orgainizers and volunteers–you guys ROCK!

The cnn sucks and so does its owner article was dead on. The reporter,so called, actually propagandist,Susan Roesgen, has since been put in her place as a fitting employee and mouth of the mindless for Ted Turner, and with only a slightly better personality. It is nice to see a raised-nose media elitist be made a fool of by the unlearned and unwashed peasents.

  21. Thomas says:

I just wanted to let you know that I have written an article entitled “Is there any hope for the Tea-Baggers to get their voices heard in a biased news media world?” It details the biased media coverage and is generally opinion based.

It is posted at American Chronicle as well as CNN’s ireport. Of course, I expected CNN to pull it, however, they haven’t…. yet.

WE HAD A GOOD TURN OUT IN PANAMA CITY FLORIDA. ABOUT 25O PEOPLE IN FRONT OF THE POST OFFICE. I BELIEVE THE MOST POPULAR SIGN WAS THE ONE THAT READ..”NO BIRTH CERTIFICATE, NO PRESIDENCY…IMPEACH OBAMA!” I THINK WE SHOULD START A PETITION TO DO JUST THAT!!

  23. david d mores says:

cnn. reflects just what ted turner says & thinks.
after all t.t. tryed to close a public road that he didn’t like.
he is as polititally as hitler in 39. and just as nuts

  25. Kyle says:

I was at the Loveland Tea Party and there was about 1000 people at a very busy intersection in Loveland Colorado. There were many good signs and the weather was perfect.

  26. TacAirlifter says:

And how surprised are we really that the MSM vilified us? I mean, come on, their ratings are in the tank and they’re just trying to suck the lifeblood out of the far left wing of the Democrat Party. Unfortunately, it sounds and looks as thought the Obama Administration was born out of this. Nevertheless, fight the good fight.. we need leadership within the Tea Party movement and we need to unify against the contemptuous CNN

  27. patricia ellison says:

400 turned out in the rain in salisbury md. all ages -many speakers from the audience-standing in the cold drizzle waiting for the chance to speak and VOICE THEIR OPINIONS while we still can.
