Pajamas Media crowd estimate at 669,000

logo

The citizen journalists of Pajamas TV media have yesterday’s crowd at 383,000 669,000 and growing.

If you’re a local organizer and you haven’t reported your figures to someone who can include them in the database, you know what to do.

PJTV has a total now of 669+ thousand. There’s a place to submit your
crowd total under the list of States & towns, but I’m having trouble finding
it again. I’ll let you know if I have any luck.

  2. Karen says:

There were about 1000 people in Lafayette Louisiana. Our local newspaper reported that there were “dozens” of people, but they soon updated it to “hundreds”.

  3. Jeff says:

How do I report the numbers? We had a very large crowd in Albuquerque, NM.
    Thanks.

Not sure where to post our numbers. It would be nice to have a link on the home page that directs the very busy organizers to one central spot to report their numbers.

Indianapolis media reports that we had 2,000, HOWEVER, the State Capitol police estimate our crowd somewhere between 12,000 - 15,000. I would love to make sure these numbers get included. WHERE????

    Thanks so much!

Update: I added all the numbers to my spreadsheet from Pajama t.v. and my total is now 751,967.
I’m going to check out the freerepublic.com link now…

Here to report that from Wellsboro, Pa that we may have had one of the smallest groups, (only 80,) but it went very well. And we’re already working for the next one and hope to triple our numbers. God bless all who came out, and those who supported us but weren’t able to make it in person.

  7. Jan Whitaker says:

There was a small group, estimated at 40 in Madisonville, KY with a coffin which was filled with tea bags. A sign read….”High Taxes are Killing Us”.
Although the group was small we were resolved to let people passing by on the main street in this small town know what we had on our minds. Please count us in th numbers!

Sorry, my paragraph breaks got eaten up in my last big rant. That was supposed to be a lot easier to read! Please feel free to edit that one (if it gets posted) and NOT post this one. Thank you.

The following site also lists tea party events and the numbers of attendees: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2230348/posts?page=80. I’ve seen way too much discrepancy in the number of nationwide tea partiers, everywhere from 100,000 (in mainstream media reports, of course) to 700,000+. The lack of consistent data isn’t helping the tea party’s affect on the uninformed, i.e. those who watch MSM for news.

There’s also another nationwide “tea party” event in the works for May 30th at http://www.teapartyday.com. Is this something TaxDayTeaParty.com will get involved in promoting? Or is July 4th the next big thing? It could be a good idea to keep these things going once a month or so to help keep people active and involved until elections roll around.

If we don’t centralize and unite, MSM will squash this movement by insisting it’s a conservative movement or an anti-Obama debacle and by continually claiming it’s a lot smaller than those who are involved know it to be. [An aside: can anyone imagine the backlash if the tables were turned, and if conservatives (or conservative media) spoke out against a gay rights event, especially if they used the word "teabag" even once??]

The problem isn’t in reaching those already in the know - it’s the ones who still have wool over their eyes that we need to recruit! How can we centralize and coordinate to give people one good location to find accurate information about upcoming events, organizing events, or supporting the movement? Is someone reaching out to the other “main” tea party sites to accomplish this?

Congrats to a completely successful day and a wonderful turnout, and here’s to moving full-steam ahead until we get REAL change in Washington!

I have been pulling numbers from this site, a couple others that are collecting info., (www.surgeusa.org/actions/teapartycrowds.htm and http://www.redstate.com/raven/2009/04/15/tax-day-tea-party-numbers/) and from news sources. I started my list with the events listed on this site and have found many more as I am collecting reports. Currently I have a list of 856 event locations with reported numbers for only 331. Total attendees so far - 552,420. A significant number as it was said on Fox news that half a million would mean that this was a legitimate movement.

  11. Chris D. says:

The article in the link says 481,000.

  12. Rick Barger says:

The main stream media has obviously drawn a line in the sand against this movement as demonstrated by thier actions and comments about the Tea Parties.
Perhaps a list can be compiled of the sponsors and advertisers for these entities so we can voice our objection to them directly for their financial support of these overtly biased news agencies. Posting the names of these advertisers publicly and the products they represent just might get their attention if they believe they will lose business by their association or possible boycott. No advertisers…no funds….etc.

  13. Craig Seifert says:

Hey Richard! you’re the MAN! Congratulations, big time. I’m proud to have you as a fellow American.

This is still America, and Americans need to get together and let these self serving politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen know that we will no longer sit back and allow them to defecate over us or our constitution.

The seem to have no fear or conscience.

  14. Richard Caster says:

Howdy! Im Richard Caster the 18 year old who Organized the Ozark Tea Party here in the small town of 11,000 people, Mountain Home AR.

We Had 1,500+ People Show up!
I dont know where to enter in my numbers so i hope this works.

We also got 3,000 Pink slips signed that we are sending to 4 congressmen.
