Reaching into the Tea Party mailbag

From my inbox:

I am 54 years old, and I know that some of the people on here are much
less than 1/2 of my age.

I am so proud of all of you.

Next week and for the rest of 2009 and on to November 2012 the world
is going to watch amazed as you pound out the sound of freedom on the
North American Continent.

Even if the American media tries to shut you down by ignoring you,
people will be watching you on BBC in England, people will be watching
you in India, in Africa, South America, China, Russia, Iran, Iraq,
Israel, Japan . . . they’ll be reading about you on laptops, hearing
about you on the radio, watching you on television . . . and the whole
world will be taking inspiration from you.

Pundits have called you the “me” generation and the “generation that
didn’t care”. You are going to show them how completely wrong they
are.

The earth is going to shake with the sound of you in the streets
demanding your birthright, demanding your inheritance, demanding
access to the American dream.

In 2010 you will drive the tax collectors out of the temple of our
nation’s capitol, you will sweep clean the halls of congress, you will
refused to be denied; and when you have finished your work in 2012,
our long national nightmare will be over.

To steal a phrase from Michele Obama . . . all of you make me proud to
be an American again.

Some of the towns near San Antonio, TX are having huge U.S. Flags available for residents to sign. These will be hand delivered to the Senate Floor. Gonzales, TX will have a “Come and Take It” flag, which is neat!

The message that I hope my participation in the local tea party sends to all elected politicians is this: Your election is not a lifetime appointment. You will be coming back to the community (whether state or local) that elected you. You will be living with the results of the actions you took while an elected official. The question is not “if”, but “when”. The answer to the question is ASAP.
