“I’m not good at estimating numbers but it appeared that at around 500 people turned out for the tax rally on the lawn at the statehouse in Montpelier. I was suprised by such a large showing in a state that is so liberal. The rally was from 12;00-2:00. After the rally, demonstrators entered the statehouse while the representatives were in session. They were surprised by the number of people there!”

“I would like to thank the 300 to 400 people who showed up at the courthouse here in Montrose. We had a great day exercising our right to peaceful assembly.” (Colorado)

“I just got back from a TEA party in Ventura, California and it was great. There were about 300 people assembled listening to speakers and another 100 or so people lined up on the streets in front of the Government Center. Not only were the protesters on the street invigorating, but so were the constant honks and cheers from the numerous cars passing by. It is apparent that MANY Americans agree with these TEA parties!”

Keep it up fellow Americans, this is our time to stand and defend our Nation, our Constitution, and protect the future of the next generation.”

The turnout was large and enthusiastic - much bigger than I expected! “I was racing, tax returns in hand, to make the last pick up at the post office when The Beatles’ “Tax Man” came on. Smiling and thinking how prophetic the old song was, I rounded the bend near Pray Park in Waterville, Ohio (Rts 24 & 64), to find a crowd of people from this small village on the banks of the Maumee River, gathered in protest. Trust me…I’ve lived southwest of here and have driven this route for 10 years; I’ve never seen anyone at Pary Park, much less a rally like this. Didn’t seem to be organized; only an impromtu gathering of citizens. Amazing…they’re demonstrating what I’ve been thinking. If I weren’t so tired from trying to meet the filing deadline, I’d have stopped and joined them.”

“I too just got back from the Tea Party at Sunset & Eastern and it was FANTASTIC. They estimated about 2000 people there, but for every person actually there, there was also at least one car driving by honking in support.”

“We had about 2000 - 3000 at the Tea Party in Louisville KY throughout the day. We had great media coverage and everything went perfect. No police harrasment, no anti-protesters, everyone was kind and organized. We made a big impact here in Louisville, Go Get’em America.”

  1. Don’t forget your good friends from doooooown South; Miami Florida that is. What an experience! My wife and I went out (I skipped a final exam in a Constitutional Law Powers [how relevant] to attend).

We’re a young married hardworking couple (23 years old). We decided to grab some flags and signs and head out there. I was blown away! In front of out post office, with no real supporting organization, and just word of mouth, we found that the Miami Dade Police Department estimated were 3,000+ people!

Honking, flag waving, country loving Americans. Your everyday folk! Old, white, hispanic, young, families, children, people wearing metallica t-shirts, people wearing indian outfits, the works! It was a fantastic experience.

St. Simons Island, GA - was hoping for 100 - got at least 636!!! Not to mention the multitude of people who honked as they passed. Everyone there was just so happy to have a place to make their voice heard. It was truly an amazing day - and everone was asking - when is the next one, and what can I do. You could just feel the American Pride coursing through the event!

  3. Warner Robins, Georgia.. Great turnout! Conservative estimate between 400 and 500 patriots with many coming and going during the event and even more honking and waving as they passed! What a great day to be an American!!

  4. lindsay y. says:

Easily 1,000 in Omaha, Nebraska - wouldn’t be surprised if there were more. Here are my pics from the event! (couldn’t see the speakers, we were in the back - good crowd shots, though. only showing 1/2 the people there). Suburbs held their own tea parties too (Papillion - 200, Sarpy - 700?, Millard - overflowing, had to be held outside!).

  5. Adam says:

I attended the Tea Party in Chattanooga, TN. It was a great time and there were around 2000 people there. It was the politest and best dressed group of protesters ever to attend a protest rally. Most of the folks were upper middle class professionals and/or retired military. I could not imagine a better group of people to spend a sunny spring afternoon with.

Grand Rapids, Michigan. In the shadow of President Gerald R. Ford Museum, 2 - 3,000 Patriots!

  7. Susie says:

Our small city of Pocatello, Idaho had an estimated 500 people show up, throughout the 2 hours. It was very cold, gray and raining, but great to see that much support. We got a LOT of thumbs-up, waves and honks…and just a few birds.
Thank you, organizers! Hope to do it again soon (maybe in the evening).

  8. Anne L. says:

I was unable to attend, but so proud of all of you who did. Thank you!!! It’s great to know there are so many of us out there.

From Boston, where it all started 236 years ago-
Greg, Roger & me were there, we helped fire the next shot heard round the world.

2000 people there. everyone i met i said “Hey thanx for being here!” its the 1st time i really smiled since the election.

there was a very old russian gentleman walking around handing a small piece of paper to anyone who would listen to him. he was obviously upset and with his age i’m sure it was an effort to make his way out there.

his english was very rough, i used my vestigal russian to ask him ‘grandfather, why are you so upset!’ he was surprised, > i then told him how i had learned my russian & where. He responded in russian ‘then you know too!’ and that he could not believe what they are doing to HIS new country. he said he was a survivor of the gulag, and he felt he had to do something. i agreed with him and said we were going to start the process this very day. he shook my hand for a long time.he went on handing out his small scraps of paper.

    the paper read

    TO FELLOW AMERICAN CITIZEN!

    Help uphold Constitution!

    Read and let others know!

Hello all! I attended our rally here in St. Augustine, FL, the oldest continually occupied European community in America and it was wonderful. We’ve got kind of a small town here and the turn-out surprised us. Estimates (at the end of the day) started at 700 and went to 1,000 for the midday rally here. Local media weren’t giving us the time of day but that didn’t stop us from having a great time standing up for our country!

  11. Terri Y. says:

Des Moines, Iowa Tea Party–estimate of 3,000. Great weather and crowd enthusiasm. Excellent speakers, beautiful day! Our local news actually covered the event–albeit briefly…Can’t wait to see what our local paper, the Des Moines Register has to say–I will have to borrow a paper…I stopped subscribing to it after the pitiful debate it sponsered between all the candidates (Republicans one day, Democraps the next day)

  12. Tracie Sharp says:

Larger Tax Day Tea Parties in Sacramento and Pleasanton today. Good turnouts considering this is Pelosi-Boxer-Feinstein-Barbara Lee territory! Hope to see coverage on the local news tonight.

  13. Rebecca says:

Dayton, OH had a whopping 11,200 show up for the tea party. Way to go Dayton!

I attended the Oakland, CA Tax Day Tea Party lunchtime rally and posted photos on PJTV.com. Local FOX NEWS TV affiliate sent a camera and reporter and Oakland Tribune sent a photographer. Local private security tried to run us off (there were about 50 of us) but we were in Jack London Square - public domain. Big fun!

Reporting from Lisle, IL. It was a colder day than we expected, but we were still able to attract somewhere between 1300-1500, and we probably could have had more if we did not run out of parking!! (Something to keep in mind for July 4th because I KNOW this movement will continue to grow!) Got a lot of great feedback - people really want this to continue! Bottom line, it felt GREAT to be out there.

    Lafayette, Louisiana

About 1000-1500 at about 5pm. At the rate they were streaming in when I left at 5, I expect about 2000-2500 for the whole event by 7pm. Evenly mixed crowd. No photos at the moment. But will post some as they are available.

  21. Ruth Narusis says:

The tea party in Marion, Williamson County, Southern Illinois was larger than even its sponsors must have hoped for. My husband and I counted the crowd in groups of 25 and came up with approximately 450-500. In addition to Marion, tea parties were being held in other Williamson County towns of Carterville, Herrin, Harrisburg. Pretty indicative of how people are feeling when you consider that Williamson County’s population is fewer than 62,000! The best speaker of the day was an 18 year old college student who plans to be a doctor. She was intelligent, knowledgeable and passionate. She begged the crowd to be examples for her generation and to help prevent the politicians from heaping debt on the coming generations that would destroy their dreams and hopes.

Something every one needs to remember. This is a workday. Think how big these numbers would be on a regular weekend.

I went to the protest in Jacksonville NC, “I’m not a bean counter but my guess would be 150-250.

The New Bern NC turn out was extremely good, but I will let someone else come up with those numbers. But they are very, very good.

**Lets push for 4th of July= Washington!!! Let roll.**

  23. Steele says:

We had 300-400 at the courthouse here in Warsaw, Indiana. It was a very peaceful group and the talks focused on God and Country, our founding documents, keeping our civil liberties, the fairtax, organizing, etc. It was typically calm as conservatives are. We needed a bit more pep. But, those that came out were very motivated and thoughtful.

There was no mention of either party, nor mention of Obama, only a focus on fiscal responsibility and not letting government take over our lives.

PS. There were no radicals there!

Was a bit concerned when I drove to the rally in Gilbert Arizona and there was not a line of cars to get to the street it was held on…
But, then I turned the corner and the parking lots were nearly full already and there were people crossing the street from the shopping area parking lots too!

It has to be a wake up call for the recently (re-)elected members of Congress.
If not, we’ll be giving them their ‘pink’ slips next year and start getting this spending…err, investing…, umm, make that WASTING of our tax dollars under control!!!

I’d estimate 2-3,000 at what was supposed to be the ’small’ protest for the SE area of the greater Phoenix area. Downtown rally should be HUGE!

Instead, it’s sadly “the government isn’t listening!!” Geez… but I am so proud of Americans from sea to shining sea who don’t protest anything, but they come out because they still believe…

Kudo’s to CARSON CITY NEVADA, over 2000 people showed up to be heard. Horns honked, people cheered, and signs were everywhere. Good Job to fellow Americans who are fed up with government spending.

Took my kids to the Sacramento tea party! Awesome over 5 thousand people. Great to see everyday Americans standing for what they believe in.

  44. Sherrie Sheppard says:

I can’t believe I am going to my first protest at 56 years old! I could not agree more in principle to this grassroots effort. However, after reading some of the comments posted by attendees of other “tea parties” I am concerned that these protests are only against the current administration. A house divided against itself will not stand. There are no republicans or democrats or liberals or conservatives. There is the ruling elite and the rest of us. It is important to be discerning and keep this truth in the forefront of this very just cause. It has been said that it is much easier to excite the emotion than to arouse the intellect. I do not think we
can afford to allow these protests to become political in nature. Do not let it sink to that level. Truth is spiritual in nature and cannot be owned by one political party or the other.

TODAY IN WINSTON-SALEM NC 700+ ATTENDED A TEA PARTY. WE WILL BE HEARD! BIG GOVERMENT = BIG GIVE AWAYS!! WE MUST STOP THIS NOW!!! SPREAD THE WORD. JIM M CLEMMONS NC

  46. Very excited about what is happening but sorry to say work prevented my attendance at any party I could reach. Yeah, I’m one of those guys that works in a private business without paid holidays, guaranteed pensions, and accruing sick days. Oh, and can you believe I’m actually accountable to someone other than a bureaucrat.

Anyway, since I couldn’t attend a party, I plan on sending a tea bag to all my elected officials from the mayor of my hometown to the big O himself.

Salt Lake City was amazing, hundreds were there even with the snow. The feeling of unity, and the realization that I am not alone has given me hope that we, the people, can take our country back.

  48. Catt says:

Davenport, Iowa: 300+ attended our Tea Party…simply amazing! Great turnout! God Bless Common Sense!
