Few things are more frustrating than knowing you are right, sharing what you know and being ignored. It’s hard to watch things turn out as you predicted and know the results could have been avoided had government listened; the bewildered questions, painful looks and real loss experienced by Americans didn’t have to be.
We said higher sales taxes were not helpful. We said it drives people to buy elsewhere. It doesn’t matter how people vote in the booth. When they vote with their pocketbooks, they make the choice with the most benefit for them. Cook County, IL didn’t listen. Last
We said higher income taxes were not helpful. We said it drives people to live elsewhere. Wealthy people are tired of being demonized and burglarized for being successful. When they vote with their pocketbooks, they make the choice with the most benefit for them. CT, NY, NJ and a host of other states, didn’t listen. Last
We said higher taxes on corporate profits were not helpful. We said it drives people to work elsewhere. Corporations are taxpayers, too, and when they vote with their pocketbooks, they make the choice with the most benefit for them.. Barack Obama didn’t listen and continues to work to end tax advantages corporations enjoy by raising taxes on US companies’ foreign profits. Last week, Microsoft
Sales Tax/income Tax/taxes on profits. Last year/last month/last week. Local/State/Federal. Consumers/Producers/Corporations. Where you buy/live/work. We told Government. Government didn’t listen.
Fortunately, we’re not the sort to just say, “I told you so!” We still believe we can still change our nation and save it. That was the Tea Party’s message. The American Liberty Alliance is committed to helping spread that message. We’re working to bring together organizations advocating sound policy and everyday Americans looking for a way to help change our nation’s future. We know you have answers and we’re committed to helping you find your voice to make them heard.

“Microsoft announced if the President follows through on his intentions, they will move jobs overseas”
At the point of sounding like a cynic…….I wonder how many big corps feeling the pinch now voted for Uncle O, hey now its time to pay the piper. MS/Gates contributed big bucks to Obama so I find it hypocritical of them to whine.
Just look at GE (Government Electric) and GM (Government Motors) they’re in bed with the progressive socialist administration we’re stuck with for now, Imelt is smiling from ear to ear with all the green contracts he’s going to be getting from his masters at the white house while idiotic draconian measures will stifle American business.
Hurricane Elvis II
In 2003, Memphis was hit with straight-line winds of 80 to 120 mph and took down numerous trees, house and did major damage through out the city. Power outages all across the city to 100,000’s of residence. It took two to three weeks in some areas to get power back on and restore our city back to normal, millions in damages in the end.
On June 12, 2009, we again were slammed with round two of Hurricane Elvis. I did the responsible thing and had a weather radio that winds up. I used the radio to listen to how long the storm would last as I watched the devastation going on around me.
It was after the fact that I was so outraged. I was using my radio to find out if there was anywhere to go to have power and make sure that everyone was okay. That is were I found was the real problem. I could not find anything on the radio except music and advertisements. Neither a traffic report nor a weather report available. I did hear one statement saying that this is what Congress wants to do with radio. God help us and be with us as this latest storm happened during rush hour on a Friday. People, in their cars, riding the storm out on the street with no television available and no traffic reports or weather reports to warn them of the upcoming danger, I happen to have someone call me and warn me, however, people I spoke with had no warning. This is not only negligence on the part of Congress but by the administration in whole. How many people are going to have to die before this is dropped?
Before the storm hit, I was watching a TV news report, while they were using a video camera near my neighborhood, they saw debris going by the camera up in the sky, when a pop was heard and my power went out. That was the last news I heard until the following morning when my power was restored. I really hope that before Congress votes on this bill they think about the true repercussions this law would have all over the U.S.
Please stop this bill!!!! We the People will hold you responsible for any deaths from this kind of irresponsibility on the part of the government for their oversite in this matter.
I also would like to thank my neighbors as my faith in the people returned as everyone was checking on everyone else. Helping lost dogs find their way back home and people cleaning up the streets for the numerous cars out riding around looking at the damage. This is the America I grew up believing in and hold dear to my heart. This is the America I want my children to enjoy.
wow you sound so preachy ” they didnt listen to us !!! ” these cities and states are run by human beings , not economic wizards … look if you beleive the mass media and think the economy is turning around then these counties and cities while making mistakes will be OK in the end … if you do not beleieve what your seeing on tv then know this , it won’t matter what they do in these states , cut taxes , lower taxes , cut staff , maintain staff etc … our economy is in such dire straits that we will see the end of our way of life , and there is nothing that ANYONE can do to stop it , not your webcite , not the president , not the people who want to abolish the fed etc … it’s TOO LATE …. no one can stop this snowball now .
They dismissed the last round of Tea Parties, even President Obama dismissed them. It seems unlikely that they are going to listen on July 4 for the second round of tea parties as well. While I am in 150% support of the Tea Parties, I must ask, when we are dismissed again, what should our next move be? The 2010 elections sound like a good place to start on the surface. However, I fear we will once again be trading one set of lousy politicians for another set of lousy politicians. For too long we have voted AGAINST candidates and, by simple default, voted FOR another. It doesn’t seem to matter which party we vote for, we are still going to get stuck with paying the way for those unwilling to pay their own way. I don’t mind helping those who NEED help but I resent having my tax dollars used to subsidize lazy people…and it is a very widespread and common condition. It isn’t the exception or the “extreme case”, it is very common and very widespread and no one is willing to do anything about it.
I am trying to get MS voters to contact their reps in the US House to tell them to vote against the climate bill which is losing support (see the Drudge report for more info). Dem. Rep Travis Childers in the 1st dist. in MS is on the Agriculture Commitee would be a key member to contact for Mississippians.
The Agriculture commitee is gaining support to vote against the bill.
Other commitee members can be identified at:
