One of the first emails I read this morning was also one of the most devastating emails I’ve read all year. The email came in from RedState.com, and explained a situation brewing in the Senate over Healthcare.
Essentially, from what I read, Harry Reid and his band of Senate thugs have written into their Healthcare legislation a section that could not be a more blatant violation of their oath to uphold and protect the Constitution.
If ever the people of the United States rise up and fight over passage of Obamacare, Harry Reid must be remembered as the man who sacrificed the dignity of his office for a few pieces of silver. The rules of fair play that have kept the basic integrity of the Republic alive have died with Harry Reid. Reid has slipped in a provision into the health care legislation prohibiting future Congresses from changing any regulations imposed on Americans by the Independent Medicare [note: originally referred to as "medical"] Advisory Boards, which are commonly called the “Death Panels.”
It was Reid leading the Democrats who ignored 200 years of Senate precedents to rule that Senator Sanders could withdraw his amendment while it was being read.
It was Reid leading the Democrats who has determined again and again over the past few days that hundreds of years of accumulated Senate parliamentary rulings have no bearing on the health care vote.
On December 21, 2009, however, Harry Reid sold out the Republic in toto.
Upon examination of Senator Harry Reid’s amendment to the health care legislation, Senators discovered section 3403. That section changes the rules of the United States Senate.
To change the rules of the United States Senate, there must be sixty-seven votes.
Section 3403 of Senator Harry Reid’s amendment requires that “it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection.”
Are you getting the full effect here? Do you understand the implications of this maneuver?
These thugs are not just working to pass legislation that Americans don’t want, they’re actively seeking to include unconstitutional language that would essentially bar future lawmakers from being able to change it!
At this point… I don’t think it could be more clear.
Our government has violated its oath to uphold the Constitution. In essence, this government is now rogue and operating outside of the constraints of the laws that govern our land.
This is dangerous. And it comes at a time when we as a people are hurting… which makes it all the more evil and malicious.
I hate to have to send you this just days before Christmas, but I believe we as a nation are in trouble. And I think it’s our duty to respond.

UPDATE 2: In case you’re wondering why I’ve been saying that Senate Dems need to be our primary target before we start waging political war on the entire government establishment… (which is certainly needed) this would be my answer.
It took hundreds of millions of dollars in bribe money to win over Sens. Mary Landrieu, of Louisiana, Ben Nelson, of Nebraska, and Bernie Sanders, of Vermont, (plus even more millions for a senator whose identity cannot be determined thanks to the obtuse language of the bill). By hook or by crook, Obamacare’s Senate backers got their magic 60 votes. Now Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, of Nevada, his 57 Democratic colleagues; and both Senate independents own Obamacare. Their votes moved Obamacare past its biggest legislative hurdle yet in a tally taken in the dead of a very cold Sunday night on a massive bill none of them actually read in its entirety.
These 60 senators have joined in what surely ranks among the most breathtakingly arrogant spasms of anti-democratic hubris in American legislative history. By every credible measure of public opinion, opposition to Obamacare has grown for months as people learned more about it. Fully 61 percent of those responding to CNN’s most recent survey turned thumbs down on Obamacare. And still these 60 senators opted to thumb their noses at the majority.
I came to the United States 40 years ago, since then my loyalty has been to America. How is it that people we trusted to defend America from foreign enemies have become the enemies themselves? Why would Americans want to destroy their own Country and its traditions, it appears as if they hate it and can’t figure out why. I know well why barack obama hates it, but why do reid, pelosi, landrieu, nelson and the rest of the thugs? One State does not the United States make. It’s about the Nation, not one of them should make sweetheart deals for the State they represent if it affects the rest of Americans. The Godfather (the movie) had more ethics than these thugs. Godfather barack could teach Carleones a lesson.
It is time for all of the taxpayers out there to do something to get the attention of this government. We all should file extensions on our income tax and not pay by April 15 this time around. That should hurt this government and maybe wake them up if no money comes in till August.
18 states have recall provisions, AK, CA, CO, GA, ID, KS, LA, MI, MN, MO,NV, NJ, ND, OR, RI, WA, WI. Alaska and North Dakota are prime examples of red states with Dem Senators who might be stopped if recalls were promoted. YES, WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING RIGHT NOW.

As a senior (71 years old) that has paid into the system for 55 years, I see the decreased Medicare payments as forcing doctors to leave their profession. Conspiracy?

My brother in law voted for Mr. Obama and he regrets doing it now. I can’t believe that there isn’t a COnstitutional laywer out there that is patriotic enough to take up our cause and try to file a suit against these guys. If they are sayign that we are too stupid to make the right decisions for ourselves then they are too smart for us and can’t represent us as a peer. They should be advisors at best. If the majority of the country doesn’t want this and they ae supposed to stand for what we want, there is a major problem here.

“I wager that this bill is most likely unread or misunderstood by those who are voting for it. Insurance and credit card companies have been required to write in plain English. The same Congress who pushed that on the private sector, now needs to reject the archaic and obfuscating legalese permeating Congressional bills and write them in plain English. Posting them on the internet in archaic legalese does not serve the transparency that the president claims to demand. Perhaps an amendment can be written requiring plain English for legislation.
Polls show that 55-60 % of Americans are extremely unhappy with the way this bill is being rammed down our throats in the middle of the Christmas holiday. I believe you are a patriot, so help us postpone voting now and insist that this bill be made truly bipartisan, and written more purposefully in the new year. WHY IS THIS YET ANOTHER CRISIS THAT HAS TO BE SOLVED AT ONCE? We are grateful for your opposition, and that you don’t have to kowtow to Senator Reid and Rohm Emmanuel (Who elected him anyway?). Deal making and conivery have reached a new low in Congress. Theoretically the Senate is composed of citizens who can ponder and consider the good of the entire USA rather than leach onto the national pocketbook for the sole good of their state. What is happening in DC is catching as it happened last night in a small rural town in Illinois. A few council members gave away 48 acres of developable land to claim victory over getting 20 acres of land across an interstate. We are a small town of 2100 that is a bedroom town. We were sold out by purchased council members by a less than moral fair board.
I am a lawyer. I would obviously need to read the context of the provision before making any final determination. But I look very much forward to working with other patriots to challenge any provisions in this bill which infringe on our constitution.
My Christmas wish is that a brigade of marines surround the Whitehouse and Capital and arrest everyone. Then ship them to GITMO in chains. Have these crooks put on trial for violating their sworn oath, taking bribes, and corruption. If found guilty they should serve 6 years in prison and not be allowed to hold public office nor work as a lobbyist.
EVERY effort must be made to get this info out into the entire public - not just our side. Only a huge upcry of disgust from more than 50% of the people is going to make any mark at all on the few Democrats with any sense of morals left in Congress. Write your local papers, we need spokespeople to go on the Sunday shows, ads during the shows that non-political types watch (eg: football games, soap operas, high-ranked sitcoms/dramas). I have donated money to organizations that were going to run ads to stop this bill - where are the ads? Running ads on Fox News is a waste of money!!!!

Equal treatment under the law, what one State receives, they all must receive. Thus, all States must petition the Fed Government to have all Medicaid funded by the the same as that granted to Nebraska.
More and more States need to stand-up and demand respect for the 10th Amendment, or else we might as well do away with State Governments. Cut the overhead if they are not going to protect us from an overbearing Federal Government.

I have been diligently watching listening and praying for a while over all of the events taking place in Washington. Truly we have reached a crossroads in our nation and the choice is ours on how we respond and systematically take back our nation. I still believe that we are “that city set on hill” shining the light of liberty to a world that so desparately needs it. As conversative’s, I also believe that the majority of us have a faith in a living God who does truly want us to wake up. Therefore I ask all of you who do believe to take the scriptures to heart and look to and apply the principals in 2nd Chronicles 7:14 that says: “If my people shich are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” I hope none are offended by these powerful words of hope and healing. Never meant to isolate but to bring healing which we truly need.
Whatever the Democrat does will be undone after next year’s elections.
One of the many frustrations is that I still must refrain from talking politics to anyone in my family. Looked on as a nut job!!! Sometimes I think these people who refuse to see what is going on deserve what they get. None are so blind, etc.

A law passed in violation of the law (Constitution)has no standing. We will get our country back one way or the other. Currently we are on the soap box, if change doesn’t come with the ballot box it will come with the ammo box. I sure hope it doesn’t come to that.
I agree with Emily above. We are getting closer and closer to a violent physical revolt, unfortunately. Sooner rather than later, those of us who feel backed into a corner and must, in self defense, strike out, are liable to do just that. Civil unrest is one thing. A revolt and bloodshed is another. It’s coming, and HC may just be the trigger. This ia a sad day in the US of A.

It is clear, there can be no rest even during the holidays. These VULTURES must be stopped! Short of blocking the entrances to Congress I don’t know what more I can do to forestall all of this from happening until we get to the 2010 elections.
We need a trapdoor in this mess. If not then I guess that we can do as Reid does and ignore whatever we want to. Our reps need to go over all the bills passed since 1900 and remove any that do not belong. The states can handle their part of legislation. The federal government should give out no money to anyone for anything.
