It couldn’t be more clear…

Fellow Patriots,

One of the first emails I read this morning was also one of the most devastating emails I’ve read all year. The email came in from RedState.com, and explained a situation brewing in the Senate over Healthcare.

Essentially, from what I read, Harry Reid and his band of Senate thugs have written into their Healthcare legislation a section that could not be a more blatant violation of their oath to uphold and protect the Constitution.

If ever the people of the United States rise up and fight over passage of Obamacare, Harry Reid must be remembered as the man who sacrificed the dignity of his office for a few pieces of silver. The rules of fair play that have kept the basic integrity of the Republic alive have died with Harry Reid. Reid has slipped in a provision into the health care legislation prohibiting future Congresses from changing any regulations imposed on Americans by the Independent Medicare [note: originally referred to as "medical"] Advisory Boards, which are commonly called the “Death Panels.”

It was Reid leading the Democrats who ignored 200 years of Senate precedents to rule that Senator Sanders could withdraw his amendment while it was being read.

It was Reid leading the Democrats who has determined again and again over the past few days that hundreds of years of accumulated Senate parliamentary rulings have no bearing on the health care vote.

On December 21, 2009, however, Harry Reid sold out the Republic in toto.

Upon examination of Senator Harry Reid’s amendment to the health care legislation, Senators discovered section 3403. That section changes the rules of the United States Senate.

To change the rules of the United States Senate, there must be sixty-seven votes.

Section 3403 of Senator Harry Reid’s amendment requires that “it shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection.”

Are you getting the full effect here? Do you understand the implications of this maneuver?

These thugs are not just working to pass legislation that Americans don’t want, they’re actively seeking to include unconstitutional language that would essentially bar future lawmakers from being able to change it!

At this point… I don’t think it could be more clear.

Our government has violated its oath to uphold the Constitution. In essence, this government is now rogue and operating outside of the constraints of the laws that govern our land.

This is dangerous. And it comes at a time when we as a people are hurting… which makes it all the more evil and malicious.

I hate to have to send you this just days before Christmas, but I believe we as a nation are in trouble. And I think it’s our duty to respond.

More on this after Christmas.

-Eric Odom

UPDATE: Let’s not forget that according to Reid… bribing Senators is a perfectly legit practice.

UPDATE 2: In case you’re wondering why I’ve been saying that Senate Dems need to be our primary target before we start waging political war on the entire government establishment… (which is certainly needed) this would be my answer.

It took hundreds of millions of dollars in bribe money to win over Sens. Mary Landrieu, of Louisiana, Ben Nelson, of Nebraska, and Bernie Sanders, of Vermont, (plus even more millions for a senator whose identity cannot be determined thanks to the obtuse language of the bill). By hook or by crook, Obamacare’s Senate backers got their magic 60 votes. Now Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, of Nevada, his 57 Democratic colleagues; and both Senate independents own Obamacare. Their votes moved Obamacare past its biggest legislative hurdle yet in a tally taken in the dead of a very cold Sunday night on a massive bill none of them actually read in its entirety.

These 60 senators have joined in what surely ranks among the most breathtakingly arrogant spasms of anti-democratic hubris in American legislative history. By every credible measure of public opinion, opposition to Obamacare has grown for months as people learned more about it. Fully 61 percent of those responding to CNN’s most recent survey turned thumbs down on Obamacare. And still these 60 senators opted to thumb their noses at the majority.

While I completely agree that there is probably no way we can overcome the Democrats with a split party, I would like to also add that we cannot be afraid of taking that step should it be necessary.

The problem has always been that the in-place Republicans know a third party would weaken their numbers and constantly argue against a third party. Their argument is that defeating Democrats is more important than pushing a conservative agenda, so they compromise on what they claim to be “core principles” in order to be more inclusive and get independent voters. Therefore, the Republicans have given conservative ideals lip service to keep us “in the big tent”, but it has only lip service. Compromising core principles proves only that you have no principles.

It shocks me that Republicans have never seemed to understand why a third party seems to only affect them and there is never a third party threatening to split the Democrats. That is because Democrats are very convicted in their beliefs as leftist, socialist or progressive as those beliefs may be. And they keep that as an overriding – uncompromising goal. The Democrats seem to focus on the long term, while the Republicans seem to focus on the near term; what they need to do to win the next election and once in office, what they need to do to stay there. That is exactly what brought down the Republican Party in the ten years. Conversely, the opposite strategy – clearly stating your beliefs and never compromising on them was the real strength of Ronald Reagan and what brought the Republicans to power in the 1980s.

A similar unwillingness to compromise on core principles is also what brought about the Republican Party when it began – as a third Party. The Republican Party grew from a mass movement of people who were against the Democrats and their conviction to slavery and were feed up with the Whig Party who seemed to be unable or unwilling to stand against the Democrats. It took just six years from the first meetings to the election of President Lincoln. History seems to be repeating, and we should learn from it. A third party may not be necessary, but it must remain an option if the Republican leadership proves unworthy of our support or unresponsive to our uncompromising convictions.

But, hopefully, the Republican leadership will take a lesson from the past and stiffen their spines. Their failure to do so has resulted in the mess we are in right now - Democrats who are running amok and could care less what the people of the country think, and Republicans who are more concerned with staying in office then fighting for the people they claim to represent.

So, while it might make us feel good to say that we need to get the Democrats voted out of office in the next election cycle, what really needs to happen is we need to vote the RINO’s out in the primarys. RINOs have to be the first to go. That is the first step in winning the war to take back our country. But, remember, it’s a long war. The original Republican revolution took six years - three election cycles. Our revolution will take just as long and we have to be prepared for the fight. Not just in 2010, but in 2012 and 2014 as well. And if during the way, a third party becomes necessary because Republican leaders continue to compromise their core beliefs, then so be it. Let them compromise their beliefs, we will never compromise ours.

God forgive me for some of the thoughts I have concerning Obama and his band of thugs. I have a grandson in the army. He will be deployed to Afghanistan the first of the year. All of our servicemen and women deserve a better Commander and Cheif than what they have. I honestly believe he cares more about the detainees at Guatmo than he does about our servicepeople. What crosses my mind at times is the fact that about 30 miles from where I live there is a band of White Supremist. I know I misspelled it but to be honest I would be afraid to even go near their meeting area. Wow, they have signs up, fences all around. But then again I think of Obama and his band. Which is the most dangerous. Any suggestions?????

I believe there are many out there who are like me but have been silent in their views and concerns about where this wonderful country has been headed for so long. And now we are reaping the results of our complacency. Unless we remove this ilk, and I mean ilk from BOTH parties and replace them with leaders that are honest, have integrity, say what they mean and do what they say, then our last recourse to return our nation back to what our founding fathers intended it to be will have to go to the streets. God help us all.

The media isn’t trying to destroy Mitt Romney, Mike Hukabee or any one else; their focus has always been and continues to be Sarah Palin. They tell us who they are the most afraid of.

I’m throwing 100% of my support behind Sarah Palin, precisely because they hate her so much.

For those that wonder where we are heading just note that a US RN Earns rought %58K and a UK RN earns about $38K. Hope those in the dems in the healthcare sector understand where this is is going when the Dems talk of cost reductions - Government mandated salaries and pay structure. I do believe that Sen Jim DeMint has said that he is going to challenge the constitutionality of this bill.

After reading the comments over again, I think we have to take some kind of measurable action NOW. We have all written, emailed, and called our representatives and that is not working.

I think changing our W4s to pay the least amount of tax possible would be a good option.

Very soon I suspect a leader will come forward and make a recommendation we will all follow in retaliation to Obama and Congress. I wish it was before the healthcare vote, but that is not looking very promising. In fact, it may be the healthcare vote that sets people off and shows them their wishes are blatantly disregarded.

Who will step up and take the lead? I think there are a lot of us ready to act.

  26. Glenn Dubroc, Jr. says:

The ultimate trump card could be played by the nation’s physicians. Imagine if they all just said, we quit. It’s not as if the Democrats could replace them all. But the AMA is a spineless, sham of an organization, representing less than 30% of all physicians, and let’s face it, no matter how bitter the pill, physicians are not going to abandon their patients. They will, however, leave their profession over time; and the influx of new medical students will be a mere trickle compared to the numbers retiring and/or flat out quitting. The medical student of tomorrow might just be the average student.

So………we’ve tried just about everything to stop this destructive legislation from proceeding. We’ve tried reasoning with our so-called representatives. We’ve had rallies, town hall meetings, we have e-mailed them ad nauseum, sent faxes, made phone calls. All to no avail. I’ve talked amongst fellow patriots and asked, “What else can we possibly do?” Certainly, no one in the minority party of Congress seems to have any grand ideas.

A friend suggested that we all stay home from work for one month. Well……….that would most certainly get the country’s attention if we could stage one massive strike, but how many amongst us could actually afford to stay home from work for that long? Sounds great on paper and I’m confident when the entitlement class begged for mercy, we could make OUR demands. Similar to how Senator Nelson from Nebraska imposed his leverage as the final holdout (the “60th vote”) to get Harry Reid to bribe him with THE TAXPAYERS’ money.

But I just don’t see a month-long walkout of the producing class coming to fruition. So what else is there? Unless I am missing something, there is only one other thing that will get their attention: a massive nationwide boycott, what I like to call Economic Armageddon. In theory, if we could impose a long-enough boycott of a specific company or companies as punishment for their support of a legislator who is supporting the health care legislation, we could bring that company to its knees. When that company cries “uncle”, we could instruct the company to threaten to withdraw all financial support of that legislator unless he/she changes his/her vote on the health care reform bill.

For this to be effective, the concept must spread across the nation like an epidemic and it must take place soon. Every patriot who opposes what Congress is forcing down our throats MUST participate.

But NOW the ultimate question. Whom do we boycott and why? I researched Senator Ben Nelson’s largest campaign contributors.
    Here’s the list: http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/contrib.php?cid=n00005329&cycle=2010&type=I&newMem=N&recs=20

The #1 company on the list, NelNet, Inc., headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska (surprise) “makes educational dreams possible through origination, funding, and servicing of student loans” (i.e. they are a finance company). Not sure how we would boycott them.

Next on the list is Berkshire Hathaway. Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska (ahem) is a conglomerate holding company that oversees and manages a number of subsidiary companies. The company’s chairman and CEO is none other than Warren Buffett. Good luck boycotting that one.

As you proceed down this list (Level 3 Communications, Omaha Steaks, AT&T, Amgen, Inc., Nebraska Beef, Microsoft Corp., etc), you quickly appreciate how difficult it could be for us to organize a nationwide boycott that ties a specific company to a specific legislator.

So I’ve been thinking that rather than associating the boycott to a specific legislator, let’s just try to economically cripple one of the most recognizable companies in the world. Any suggestions? Let’s pick one and get the word out immediately. We’ll move from one company to the next UNTIL THEY HEAR US LOUD AND CLEAR !!!!! This is war !!!

I think it is time to take off the gloves. We need to get leagal counsel and start filing treason charges on anyone who votes for this. The have taken an oath to protect the constitution that they are clearly violating. If a lawsuit is started I can guarantee the money will come. look at others who have had legal problems and asked for funds on the conservative net.

  29. Extremely conservative says:

I think it is bad to introduce yet another party candidate. I thought that a third party was a must have but now I am not so sure because with the Independent Party, the Constitution Party, and now possibly the Tea Party, etc., there are just too many so called third parties, that will only split the votes and insure the evil idiots that are there now will probably stay. We can not afford for them to stay. In fact we will be damn lucky if we can even save this Country now. If all the other outlying parties would come together and form only one third party, there might be a chance, the way it is there is no chance in hell to elect a third party. And I don’t see these parties working together to form one. There is going to have to be a march on Washington and shove the powers that be and their big fat a—- out on the street and say NO MORE, you work for us and you are FIRED. Many are just waiting for the first shot to ring out, hate to see a revolution in this Country again, but I don’t see anyway around it anymore. TruthIllinois has the right idea, my question is, how do we band together to do this? I hear people talking and many have great ideas but I have yet to see any group who is having meetings across the Country to band together to actually accomplish something. We can call, e-mail, write, protest which we do all the time and they don’t listen, they don’t care what we think. Someone tell me what do we actually do and how do we start a movement that says we truly mean business.

  30. Fred B says:

    This isn’t over yet.

    1. The Senate and the House will adjourn until January. We need to get to each of the Senators and Congressmen in a big way over their holidays and let them know how angry/frustrated/PO’d we realy are. Perhaps it is time for some folks to chain themselves in buildings. Now is the time to really get in their faces. Get business men and big hitters to withdraw all future contributions to those folks that voted the wrong way.

    2. They will not start the reconciiation process until the 18th of January. There is a special Senate Election in Mass which should be a slam dunk for the Democratic party on the 19th of January. There is a Republican who is fairly conservative named Scott Brown that is running who has come out against the Bill. Getting him elected would stop the cloture on the reconciliation of the two bills. Getting him even close in the vote would send a huge signal to the Dems.

    3. There has been one defection today of a Blue Dog Democrat to the Republicans in the House. I suggest that everyone that lives in a district that went for McCain in 2008 and has a Democratic congressman in the seat start a deliberate push on that Congressman to vote no. Again get in his wheelhouse. Now is not the time to pull punches.

    4. There is a significant roadblock to the bill in the language on abortion funding - everyone needs to get to any stated pro-life democrat and get them to hold firm on the Stupak language in the house bill during the reconciliation process - accept no substitute and ensure that the congressman knows his job is on the line. It will take masses and day-to-day contact until it is over. Same is true for any Pro-Life Democratic Senators.

    5. Nebraskans need to flip Ben Nelsons vote on cloture. Considering how much flackhe is taking he might actually do it.

    6. There needs to be a fund set up for Judicial challanges and test cases set up now. That means that someone with legal experience/expertise needs to identify likely candidates with possible standing. As soon as the bill is passed the taxes start and the lwsuits can begin. There are several opportunities for challanges to the bill - mandated coverage and the uneven implementation on the states being the two most obvious but there are many others and we should challange them all. A legal team should be set up to review the bill and pick out all of the challangable areas of the bill.

    7. There needs to be a concerted effort to disect the bill and advertise all of the underlying bits of information to the American public to assist in the above activities. This might cost some money to get informationout there.

    8. Should all of those activities fail - massive non-violent civil disobedience might be the next step. Perhaps a National Strike. See http://strike120.ning.com

Remember it only takes one Democratic Senator being flipped or unavailable for the cloture vote for the reconciliation cloture vote to fail.

It would take a flip of twenty or so congressmen (40 Democrats voting against to make sure) in the house.

Everyone needs to intensify their efforts at communicating to their Reps and educating our neighbors. Hold town halls even without your reps - invite them and if they don’t show use the press to embaress them. Use the power of the web to send out videos. Make your own advertisements directly to your reps - have several people talk directly to the camera and address the reps by name for 1 minute each. Post them on youtube and send the links to the reps and to everyone you can think of. Make your pleas as passionate as possible and use specifics on how disgusted you are.

All of this is a long shot - but it can be done. It all may come up short but it at least sets up the major issue of the 2010 elections. Even when it is passed you must keep the pressure up until Nov. 3. If you do all of that - there will be a massive change in Washington and we can at least defund the beuracracy until we can get the votes together to overturn the damage. Now is not the time to give up - now is the time to double or triple your efforts. Freedom isn’t free.

Fellow Patriots, we need to get Congress out of our pockets permanently by ending its power to (1) tax us and (2) end its power to borrow money to cover huge deficits.

Please go to http://www.dontgo.ning.com, a Tax Day Tea Party website. Select GROUPS. Under just about any State, click on the Discussion Item REAL FEDERAL TAX REFORM WORTHY OF THE TEA PARTY/TOWNHALL MOVEMENT. This gives a complete detailed discussion of how the CST will work.

Ladies and Gentlemen, ending Congress’ power to raise money is the key factor is purging all of this misused power by the federal Government.

  38. TX_Independent says:

Reading all the comments it is great to see others with the same concerns.

There are parts of the healthcare bill I would support. For example, I like that insurance would be provided by free market insurance companies.

However, there is a lot that I do not like about the bill and far outweighs what I do like. For example, I do not approve of the corruption of buying votes.

The Chris Dodd example sickens me. He knows full well he is voting against the wishes of his constituents and the greater interests of the country but buys them back with a 100 Million dollar hospital for his state. This is money we do not have and the action violates basic moral integrity of our institution of government. Multiply this many times over and we have the healthcare bill. Make no mistake, it will be a deficit buster unlike anything we have taken on.

The Senate and Obama toss around trillions of dollars as if it is play money. It burns me up to know this is being done and is so flagrant as if to be arrogant.

I am ready for battle in whatever form it takes. The actions of our represenatives violate our laws and the constitution and need to be stopped and fixed before even more damage is done.

This right is ensured by free, qualified medical care provided by state health institutions; by extension of the network of therapeutic and health-building institutions; by the development and improvement of safety and hygiene in industry; by carrying out broad prophylactic measures; by measures to improve the environment; by special care for the health of the rising generation, including prohibition of child labour, excluding the work done by children as part of the school curriculum; and by developing research to prevent and reduce the incidence of disease and ensure citizens a long and active life.

We are in Communism, rather we like it or not. What does this make Harry Reid:

    A) Progressive
    B) Socialist
    C) Communist
    D) Marxist
    E) Traitor of the Republic
    F) All of the Above.

    I vote for F

I do not know what to do about this but we have to do something drastic. We need to get those people out of Congress somehow.

Can a member of Congress be recalled?

Is it possible to sue members of Congress for treasonous, unconstitutional activity against the people of the United States?

Could we get enough people to walk out of work in protest for one day? Would that even make a difference?

Could we get enough people to upe their deductions for a month or two and reduce the amount of tax the thieves are taking?

Could we have a less than pleasant rally - one that the MSM cannot overlook to bring more attention to what is going on?

Is there such a thing as a civilian complaint that could be filed against Congress to temporarily restrict their activity?

I know these things ore probably not even possible but I have a six-month old grandson and I am afraid for him. So, just as our “esteemed” members of Congress have said over and over again to do nothing is unthinkable.

I will be there (in Washington) if I have to crawl, this is insane, it has to be stopped, I have faxed all day for three days. I have tears in my eyes, how can the unconstitutional act pass?

The final Article of controversial legislation often states:
“All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.”

This is NOT about healthcare! This is an effort for TOTAL CONTROL!! Read history and see all the FREE REPUBLICS fell to a dictatorship THROUGH Healthcare control! God help us all! Some are saying small businesses should lay everybody off, get unemployment and bring down the government through welfare and no payroll taxes to collect - another said just claim 9 dependents on your W4s for 2010 so less tax is taken by the government and you will have until 2011 to pay anything you may owe. People are angry and rightfully so! On January 24, 2009 the DEMons started http://www.end22.com to amend the 22nd Article of the Constitution which is Term Of Office. They tried to have Obama in office forever. Then some of the public heard about it and they changed it to THREE Terms for obama. Today I read in the bill an earmark to ACORN brought by Roland Burris (it figures) and ALL the Unions are NOT INCLUDED in the taxes for the cadillac version of healthcare. These DEMons MUST be IMPEACHED! We MUST UNITE and bring charges against each and every one of them for treason against the Consitution - our great law of the land! Thank you for ALL you do - as a tea party organizer joined with you - let’s roll.

    This is out of control.

  47. Hopper12 says:

If EVER there was a reason to get conservative, Constitutional GOP’s and NEW people to run in 2010, it is now. After the holidays, we have to plan. OBAMA IS NOT THE ONLY COMMUNITY ORGANIZER AROUND. Time he gets a taste of his own medicine.

  48. Joyous1 says:

A little off the subject but thought it might bring a smile to you all.

My Dad & his brothers/sister own a small business. They started the restaurant 37 years ago. Let me tell you — my Dad has worked his tail off to make it a success.

My Dad receives sales calls all the time. Whenever a sales rep tries to sell him something…he says..”I don’t need to buy that - Obama is going to give that to me. Isn’t he paying your mortgage?” The sales rep at this point is not sure what to say. He then asks them if they voted for Obama….if the answer is yes…they get a big NO to selling him anything!

I love it! We laugh about it and use it as one way to find humor in this mess!

  49. Lee says:

Everyone seems to be on the same page but we’re preaching to the choir. Our movement has been noticed and we have some momentum but we need to use it to best effect. Running a third party candidate is probably not our wisest choice.

In the existing two party system one candidate wins and one looses; in a three party race two must loose. I am an independent and neither the Republican nor the Democratic Party represents my interest but, of the two, the Republican Party easily comes closest. With a few more Republicans in the Senate we would not be looking at the partisan legislative tsunami we now face. By introducing a Tea Party candidate we will most likely split the building anti-democratic electorate and once again end up electing a Democrat.

Recent polls suggest we can take on the Republican candidate in the primaries and win. Winning in the primaries would pit a Republican (Tea Party) candidate against the Democratic candidate on Election Day, compounding our effect and improving our chances of a win. If our candidate looses in the primaries we should support the Republican candidate as the better choice. A win in the next election would give us the traction to deal with incumbent Republicans in subsequent elections.
Let’s not use our newfound ammo to shoot ourselves in the foot!

Now, let me just add, kudos to Governor Heineman of Nebraska!

“When you see it, recognize it”
