Today TaxDayTeaParty.com is pleased to announce the beginnings of a partnership that we believe will bring forth a fresh plan for the liberty movement in 2010. As many of you know, Freedomworks played an intricate role in the success of the 9/12 event last September, and they’ve been an enormous help in the liberty movement in general. Also, Tea Party Patriots have been hard at work organizing advocacy efforts and movement coalitions for most of 2009.

Then there is the American Liberty Alliance, the group formerly known as the “DontGo Movement” and one of the original coalition members behind the April 15th Tax Day Tea Party of 2009.

As you can see with our new website model, American Liberty Alliance and Freedomworks are going to be focusing on a national Tea Party in Washington, D.C. for April 15th. The Tea Party Patriots will be working with organizers across the nation to help coordinate local events for the Tax Day Tea Party.

Of course, many other groups and organizations will be playing a part as well, and you’ll likely see their efforts begin to unfold in the coming weeks. We hope we can build a coalition that can and will help take this movement to the next level in 2010, and we believe the pieces are currently in place to help make this happen.

It’s time for unity. It’s time for collaboration. It’s time for mass action unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

If we don’t come through with significant victories in 2010 and 2012, the corrupt agenda in Washington will put in motion a mechanism that will destroy this country and take our liberty along with it.

The time to act is now. Start planning your journey to Washington on April 15th. We’re going to need all hands on deck for this.

Watch for updates…

-Eric Odom

I want to participate in any way I can.

Hmmm, what’s all this carping about “astroturfing” and what “A” Tea Party Org is doing to “B” Tea Party Org, yada yada yada….jeez people the “enemy” is those jerkoffs in DC who don’t give a rats ass about us constituents BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT YET AFRAID ENOUGH FOR THEIR POLITICAL LIVES. We need to change that. Fear is a great motivator. My wife and I are 61 and we are already booked into a hotel in DC and we intend to make ourselves heard and if enough other like minded Patriots get to DC and there are enough of us screaming for their scalps then I believe the necessary “FEAR FACTOR” will begin to play itself out in our favor.

And if they don’t listen to us outside of the White House or the Capitol, then for Plan “B” we’ll go to their homes and yell at them from their front lawns. See how their damn neighbors like that. This is personal folks. We are all being screwed over by a bunch of arrogant, dismissive scum balls and WE THE PEOPLE need to take em down.

And finally,I don’t know Eric Odem….. never met him, never spoke to him, but as far as I am concerned he has persistently led a group of common minded people toward a worthy goal and that is all the motivation I need to join this group. We are happy to help this organization, and we would be happy to be part of an organized group in DC, but with or without, the Mrs and I are going to DC because we are pissed as hell and we don’t want to leave our grandkids the legacy of a Marxist state.

Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way. Stop the infighting. Get mad, get organized, AND FOR GOD’S SAKE… GET EVEN.

Stay focussed. We are fighting for the freedom of millions of Americans and for freedom throughout the world. Without a free America there will not be anything standing in the way of a fascist world order.

  5. Allen says:

Thank God we have found the means and the method to come together to fight this monstrous tyranny. We MUST fight together. Hopefully, this event will bring us together sufficiently to make a national statement. I agree, however, that it would have been best to coordinate with all other groups so that we could have done the national tea party on one day and the local tax day tea parties a couple of days before as we do not want to squeeze out our local and state efforts. I am a local tea party organizer in Buffalo but the DC event is so important that I have to find a way to get both done. I may have to do the local tax day tea party on the 17th which is on a Saturday. It would have been better to coordinate things so we didn’t all have to be faced with these issues. In any case, be prepared for the press and the DC tyrants to ignore us, no matter what we do.

  6. dorothy says:

I am for this march on DC, and am getting my friends together, we are in South Mississippi.

I agree that trying to from a 3rd party at this time will be a disaster! leave that until the day we can call our country ours again.

Eric, thank you for all that you have done for us to follow and contribute.

We have to push the FAIR TAX that is the only way we will ever be free of spreading the wealth.

  7. D W TX says:

We apologize for saying Republican but most of the time, it is the Liberal Democrat policies we are fighting against. We acknowledge not all Republicans are our shining stars, they have also let us down. The reality we have each let ourselves down by allowing our core values to be destroyed over the years. What we once held dear has been desecrated in the name of Political Correctness. As we are Socially Engineered into something none of us want to be or have we find ourselves with a sort of tunnel vision and one issue battles.
I want my country back. I want Freedom to Ring and I want my children to have a safe free debt free country.

  8. SadieTParty says:

Time to take our country back from Streach Palosi,Harry (the Boxer) Reed, Chuckey Smuckey all libs and rihno’s!

As a Vietnam vet, Christian, taxpayer, we need to vote out the commies from any office, as they do not represent me and only want to do is a re-distribution of my tax-payer dollars to Ilegals, and Marxis, and the enemy.

  12. Tom Roberts says:

April 15th should be 10 times bigger than last year. F*** the Federal income tax for the dirty, greedy rich bankers. F*** the dirty Federalists who are bought and paid by them — all the Senators.

  13. Fran says:

    HOOOOOOO RAAAAHHHH
CHARGE………OUR FOUNDING FATHERS ARE ROLLING IN THERE GRAVES. IT’S………..WE THE PEOPLE!!!!! EVERYONE ON BOARD AND PUT THE BOOTS ON THAT WERE LEFT BEHIND!!!

  14. Annie says:

Caron, you may have something there, if only Dems would show they stand up for Americans instead of their party. I just don’t want the perception that the movement train is being fueled by one political party.

  15. Killerbee says:

Eric odom and ferp are left wing dopes who wouldn’t recognize a grass roots movement if they were run over by it.

    Forget them. They are irrelevent.

Power to the citizens! we will take our country back from the left wing radical socialists in the white house and throw their collective butts out in the street where the citizens will have a few words with them.

Everyone go to DC in April…Scream at the bums in congress. The time to be nice is over. Tell them to get out of office or we’ll vote them out.

  16. Caron says:

I understand not wanting the RNC to be contributors to this effort. But how would it work if someone could get the Democratic Party to also make contributions. There are many Democrats who are not on the far left fringe.

  17. Annie says:

I’m disturbed to hear the Republican party mentioned in connection with any marches or gatherings. I don’t want them involved. Their only aim is to get re-elected. This is not about a political party, it is about we the people. They helped get us into this mess so don’t try to tell me they’ll stop putting the party first. That bunch now in power is only making it far far worse! I live in the worst state in the U.S., California, where Democrats have long been in power, on local, state and federal levels. Now Obama and that bunch on Capitol Hill are trying to turn the U.S. into California, The Nanny States of America! Next they will try to give amnesty to illegal aliens who are the most protected people in the U.S. because they have been placed above the law by the very people who were elected to serve and protect Americans . . . but don’t! I was pleased to attend the Tax Day Tea Party on April 15th. That corrupt lunatic Nancy Pelosi now belittles me for it, yet she praised me when I was out marching against George Bush! She calls illegal aliens patriots and Americans anti-American. Democrats, known as the tax and spend party, has become the spend, tax, print money and borrow from China party, giving even more power over us to a Communist country. Which comes first, the take over by China or bankrupting America? I will vote for the dog catcher if I have to, who may do a better job, just to vote against all incumbents! I am behind this movement 200%!!! But please, just keep the Republican or any other political party out of it.

  18. Bonita Vergara-Jones says:

I have tried to unite all the individual groups of “like mind”. This will be sent to all that send me email. And, you can count on more than 50 bus loads from N.C. and I know of 10 that will be going from GA.
So, they said we were less than 800,000 9/12. Well, they better have “port-a-potties” this time! Also, lets all be clean and show them that D.C. doesn’t need to be a crime center in America when real Americans come to D.C.!

  19. The bayshore NJ group will be there!!

  20. carol says:

I am in Calvert County Md and will have the Tea Party announced by our Republican Central committee. We have been to the 9/12 rally in Washington and the healthcare reform rally with Mark Levin & Chris Plante. We are not going away!

  21. Denise says:

I was at the 912 March and am helping organize (in Missouri) the Second Amendment March which will also be in April. I will definately be at the Tax Day Tea Party.

As far as the candidates and the next election - we need to take over our local Precincts. That is the way to change the agenda of the Republican Party back to strictly conservative. The grassroots fight begins at the local level and the Precincts are crucial. Many Precincts are without representatives. Find out which Precint you are in and see if there is a representative. If there is, find out if they are a true conservative. There is a male and female rep in each Precinct. If they are not a true conservative you need to run for that position. I believe they meet once a month. The Precinct elections are in August. Visit each house in your Precinct and meet the people you will be representing - ask for their vote. THAT’s the way to win your Precinct back and FIX the republican party.

I wish we could go with a new party but there is just not time. This is our best option at this time.

  22. Mark says:

I’ll pass this on across Western NC! Our Tea Party numbers are growing!

  23. We are ready here in Denver!
Permits have been pulled and planning has begun.
Being able to communicate with other groups and individuals around the nation, trade thoughts and ideas, etc… will make this next Tax Day Tea Party all the better and more effective.

  24. gail k lightfoot says:

Is this going to end up electing conservative Republicans who want to be career politicians just like the ones who got us into this mess or is this going to be electing average Joes and Janes who have no desire to remain in office more than a single term? If we send more career politicians along with the unionized employees, nothing will change.
We must make the ‘do something’ for Congres repealing laws that overlap existing laws and/or stand in the way of any personal responsibility laws, rules and regulations.
Unless we demand that common sense be restored at every level from our local boards and councils to Congress, we will not be able to restore freedom to ourselves and our posterity.

  25. Barbara says:

I am located in New York City and I KNOW there are many followers! Our ranks are growing to take back our country from the radical group now in power! FYI_there is interest in our colleges- we need to reach out any suggestions ? I am a full time adult student at present
    Keep up the good work
STOP the healthcare monstrosity! We can do it!!

  26. Tom says:

I’m in. And no one has offered to pay me to be in. I believe that there are enough Mainstream American Citizens who have awakened to the catastrophe that is in our future if we fail to act now and act decisively, that local, state and national rallies will all attract large numbers of people.

Meanwhile…..There is much work to be done at the grass roots level. We need CANDIDATES; people who are willing and able to carry the ball by running against incumbents. Time is growing short for qualifying and getting names on ballots.

The idea that those who are now in office are the best that WE, THE PEOPLE have to offer is beyond assinine. Historically, our political system has operated at or near the lowest common denominator. Many of those who have been elected throughout our nation’s history have reflected that.

WE MUST HAVE CANDIDATES AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT WHO CAN MOVE OUR ELECTIONS AWAY FROM THE LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR AND ELEVATE OUR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC TO THE LEVEL THAT IS DESERVED BY MAINSTREAM AMERICAN CITIZENS. They are there and I believe that many of them are willing to run for election. BUT THEY WILL NEED OUR HELP AND OUR SUPPORT. But first they must be willing to step forward and identify themselves.

Knowing who needs to be out of Washington and out of the way becomes meaningless without having someone with whom they can be replaced.

  27. Sandi says:

I’m so sick and tired of hearing these AstroTurf remarks made by idiots who are believe everything that they are told by Obama, Pelosi, and the other communists in Washington and in the media. Well, I went to the 9/12/09 March on Washington, and took two days off of work to do it. Not only did I not get paid for the days I missed at work, I’m still paying off the credit card for the trip. I know it’s hard for you to believe that real people care enough about this country, that they actually pay out of their own pockets to try to save it from imbeciles like you. You think that you can discredit us by calling us names, but you’re Alinksky tactics won’t work against real patriots. We’re on to you, and we’ll beat you at your own game.

  28. This is good news; we have millions of WE THE PEOPLE in so many groups and it’s good to see collaboration and uniting. Let us know how we can help bring all groups together to have the largest group of people in history in DC in April, 2010.

  29. Linda says:

My husband and myself wish we could have been in DC for the last march. I will tell him about this and I hope we can show our support. If not, I hope we have something here in Mn. We always go. Thanks for trying to take back our Country.

  30. GREAT to see so much interest in restoring this nation to it’s founding Document. We must continue to let our voices be heard. Our efforts must be local, statewide, and national. All of our efforts on any level are helping us reshape the “Change” and we must keep the torch lit. Let’s continue to unite for the sake of our freedoms, and the future.

    Thank you!

  31. Can we get together in Nashville for the Feb 4-6 convention and try to coordinate local action plans for greater impact in 2010? We need to move beyond the mass protests and start swinging elections to better candidates - primary by primary - as a warm-up for November. The Illinois primary on Feb 2 is a starting point.

  32. Norman Hendrickson says:

    @Jen-
I read your 2 December concerns, and agree, but think since the date of the 15th is a national income tax day, the local groups ought to do theirs the 16th, so it is sorta a 1-2 punch Fed & State…

  33. John says:

I’m commited to do what I can at whatever level I can be it local, state or national. It’s great that all of these organizations are coming together.

  34. Sue says:

My only concern is..how many trips to DC can people make? Aug 26, for Glenn, the 9-11 march, and now April.

  36. Jacmarien says:

Great idea! I am excited to go. My husband, four young children, and I went to the March on D.C. on September 12, 2008, and it was amazing. We are starting the planning process now. Please get GeoEye this time or something to prove our numbers. Because this should be big … and the more evidence we have, the better.

  37. Robert says:

    ferp,

You are dead wrong. No one has paid me or any other member of the tea parties that I have attended. You wish this was an Astroturf movement. Then you could relax in your Marxist utopia. But the truth is, this is a totally grassroots movement. Opps, Obama, Pelosi and Reid (just to name a fraction of them) have forced true Americans from a deep sleep. They make up the silent majority in this country. You can ignore them, insult them, demoralize them but we won’t go away. Not now, not ever! Once again, thank you Obama!! thank you Nancy, thank you Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Rahm Emanuel, David Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBC, NBC, New York Times, Washington Post and all you Marxist loving idiots. You woke a very sleepy people. Now you are going to see all your dreams evaporate.

2010 – The year of the “second revolution” in America. Only this time it will be fought in the voting booths. You will see.

  38. Jill in CA says:

Sounds fantastic! Most of us feel so helpless and want to make a big statement. I have one problem, though. Glenn Beck (huge fan!)is also planning a movement for next year. His 9-12 project is gathering people for Aug. 28, 2010 in D.C.

Can’t we pick one day for everyone? I am torn!

    http://www.the912project.com/category/the-plan/

  39. Jen says:

Eric, I think you and Freedomworks need to change your date…I am tired of the local grassroots movement being hijacked by those seeking the national stage.

By doing this event on the same day as hundreds are trying to set up their state rallies will detract from the local level. As we have seen in the past…people will flock to the DC event…leaving the local organizations empty, after spending hundreds to thousands of dollars to put on the state event.

Last years success was BECAUSE of the local organizers…not someone looking for a national stage.

Pick another date for the national stage and let the local grassroots movement put the pressure on the state politicians, on April 15th.

  40. Glenn Lord Sr says:

Anyone that accuses Eric Odom of running an Astroturf organization is either an idiot, a fool or even worse a socialist liberal. I have been a harsh critic of Freedomworks in the past but seeing the disorginization in the Tea Parties someone had to step up to the plate and they did with the 912 march. I would like to have seen much more cooperation with the Tea Parties, but 912 happened, and that is the important thing. Does Freedomworks expect to profit from the assocation, probably. The most important thing is you have to have a credible organization to do what we did on 912 and Freedomworks can provide that service to us. Just next time I would like to see more cooperation. You go Eric!

  41. Elaine says:

FERP. I, like other Tea Party Patriots, have NEVER been politically active, so the Astroturf title doesn’t seem to fit. I never even heard the word before Pelosi used it. The left seems very threatened that we just MIGHT get organized, sort of like ACORN, only OUR TAX dollars have bought and paid for them! Where is your outrage over THAT organization? NO ONE pays us for what we do or the time we invest in this Conservative movement, UNLIKE Acorn. So, if you are angry about a MOVEMENT, at least direct your anger where it belongs… at the ACORN FRAUD or the CLIMATEGATE Fraud, not at ordinary citizens who have, quite frankly, had enough!

  42. On the one hand - glad to see all the efforts. On the other- it seems like the national groups are vying for their day in the sun. I have a great of respect for y’all- but as an organizer of a large Tea Party (Hampton Roads Tea Party), we are finding that our people are being pulled in several different directions by the national groups. We are working hard to keep our tea party focused on the efforts of state sovereignty and neutering unconstitutional legislation.

The leftists are starting lots of fires and that’s part of the problem.

I applaud that organizers are stepping up and not waiting for A LEADER to appear. That’s very American of us. I understand that while we are very united in our goals and vision, we are not necessarily on the same page for strategy or rallies. Perhaps that’s just part of the game right now.

If we were astroturfed, we’d probably have it together - you know, synchronized, yes?

  43. Florence says:

This is so exciting that we have momentum in 2009 already!!

  44. R. Griffith says:

    I’m in.

  45. Alex says:

@ Ferp - Keep sticking your head in the sand and pretending that the millions of American citizens who support these groups don’t truly believe our government is completely out of control. Seriously. Please continue to ignore us. It’ll make our job of replacing the corrupt, Constitutionally ignorant, incumbent politicians you keep blindly voting for that much easier.

  46. Eric Odom says:

“this is great for transparency. there is no longer any point in hiding it: this is an astroturfing organization bought and paid for by freedomworks.”

For the record, Freedomworks has not sent a penny to us for this effort. And to be frank, it’s rather insulting to read your suggestion that they are in fact funding what we do.

Now, does Freedomworks help take care of logistics on the ground? You bet they do. And we couldn’t thank them enough for doing it.

Portables, insurance policies and permits don’t just magically show up for you.

  47. ferp says:

this is great for transparency. there is no longer any point in hiding it: this is an astroturfing organization bought and paid for by freedomworks.

  48. Elaine says:

Organization seems to be needed here. Glad to see it. There are so many groups with the same message! We need to unite. Grassroots organizing can only take you so far once you get to the National level. Freedom Works is a great organization. What about the Glenn Beck and 9.12 groups? They are very active and I am involved with them as well. There are two other DC marches planned by these conservatives. Can’t we ALL co-ordinate so we can make ONE trip? August and September seem too far away to wait during these aggressive liberal times. Being focused on ONE DAY AND ONE TRIP would be more productive and have better results. Thanks for the information!

  49. Richard Walker says:

I’m in! Let’s keep the pressure on and even INCREASE it!

  50. Nancy says:

This is great. Thanks for all you do.
