Momentum in MA special election

logo

Fellow Patriots,

Last week Steve Foley and I flew in to Boston to begin trailing the Brown campaign and cover the special election for U.S. Senate in MA. We also helped organize multiple volunteers to come into the state and help with the campaign where needed.

Before coming to Boston, we knew there was going to be energy, but we had no idea it would be this wild. The momentum, as I wrote yesterday, is unlike anything I’ve ever seen!

In the past 24 hours, I’ve witnessed grown men cry, union members switch parties, and families turn campaign events into Saturday outings. People here feel a sense of freedom now that they haven’t felt for many decades. They feel that they can now vote for something completely different. And they’re ready to follow through with it.

Millions and millions of dollars flooded in over the past week to help Brown get elected. And even though Democrats believe it’s a means through which to insult Americans, we know this money come from the pockets of hard working, concerned and emotional patriots like you. This huge boost has helped Brown fight back against brutal and dishonest attack ads put out by the Democrat Party.

Yesterday we filmed a few speeches by Scott Brown. We traveled from Boston to Quincy, then went to Plymouth, ending the day in Cape Cod. The Brown campaign is well ran, energized, excited and continually gaining momentum.

Today while President Obama distorted the facts, insulted Boston and was heckled during his stump speech for Coakley, Scott brown was joined at a rally by Curt Schilling (Red Sox legend), Doug Flutie (former Boston College star and NFL great) and John Ratzenberger from Cheers.

That’s quite a contrast, and one that paints a very clear line between the two candidates.

There are just two more days left in this campaign. At this point, we just need to get out the vote. It’s time to call and email everyone you know in MA. Have them go vote. And in the process, they should encourage everyone they know to do the same.

Right now Brown is leading and if he wins… Obama is stripped of his 60th vote. This is a major opportunity for us and we need to do everything we can to embrace it.

For Liberty,
-Eric Odom

What the pollster’s aren’t polling and the media ain’t writing:

    1. Do you support taxpayer approval of spending? If not, why not?
    2. Do you support instant runoff voting?
    3. Do you support public seed money for new candidates?
    4. Do you support a 32 hour work week, to spread the work?
    5. Do you support a Constitutional Convention, to move up midterm elections?

  3. Spiking says:

Career politician: Lookie here, I get to spend money!!!!!!!
Tea partier: That’s MY money!!!!!! The PEOPLE’s money!!!!!!!!!!!!
Career politician: I’m still in office. Nananananana (sticks out tongue)
Tea partier: You’re looking pretty holed up in there.
Career politician: just let me spend a little bit mooooooorrrrrrrrr (drools) Gotta have it.
    Tea partier: Spell Massachusetts.

In the Internet Age, people want quick results.

We may want to consider a nationwide campaign to convert Congress to Tea Partiers. People who will spend no new money without taxpayer approval.

We all know the Treasury is bleeding profusely. We all know the economy is a mess.

We could go to 32 hour work weeks, and spread the work out. Or keep the status quo, and have the employed pay for the unemployed.

That’s another national conversation that ain’t happening.

  5. Spiking says:

The Tea Party is simply going to have to bring in more people: People who can talk, or type, in public.

I understand the need for a moderated forum to keep the quality posts at the top.

But you may need a more free-flowing forum, as well. People at USA Today comments SPECIFICALLY agreed with taxpayer approval of spending. You’re going to have to figure out a way to engage the country. AND GET SOME CANDIDATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Spiking says:

LOL. The “Tea Party” dithers while the country burns.

Just did a google search on Tea Party. Clearly, America is looking to the Tea Party for leadership.

    Tea Party 33, Democrats 25, Republicans 12

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,583453,00.html

Yet still not one mention in the media of something that would actually work: taxpayer approval of spending.

Could the Tea Party be about to leave taxdayteaparty.com?

  7. Spiking says:

Not that the readers here care, but the debt is about to skyrocket. That’s what happens when you spend more then you tax. And that’s what leads to more taxes. Or perhaps some slashed Social Security.

    I offer the following suggestion:

We nominate candidates for Congress – a nomination and a second is required
On Tue, Mar 30, we select candidates using instant runoff voting
We then do the necessary work to get these candidates on the ballot

I suggest that candidates must agree to taxpayer approval of spending to earn the Tea Party brand.

    Oligarchy v Rule of Law

In my days at USA Today comments, someone posted an amazing video. If I saved the link, I don’t know where it is. It was about 10 minutes long.

It said that we basically have two choices in government: oligarchy or rule of law.

    The Debate

As many of you know, I railed a few days back in this forum. Against the FAKE, MORONIC Tea Partiers.

I do not like conducting debates with myself, but I am left no choice.

Limited government: We need to elect a bunch of folks who believe in limited government.
Taxpayer approval: What does that mean?
LG: Um, that we will trust politicians.
TA: Why would we want to do that?

I am still angry with the FAKE, MORONIC Tea Partiers. Those who sully the name.

Hopefully, today’s election will show Obama and friends that the American People are not going to sit on their hands.
    —————-
I believe that there are many good men and women prepared to run for Congress, the Senate, and the presidency.

Men and women who support taxpayer approval of spending.

    Men and women of honor.

With any luck, the Tea Party will endorse these men and women, and away we go.

I do hereby declare that I will donate $10 to the Tea Party candidate in my district who will uphold this critical value.

And maybe I’ll donate more as soon as they have a website up!

To the Democrats and Republicans who worry about vote splitting, I say this unto thee: It is fully within your power to enact instant runoff voting. Will you continue the cynical politics of the past? Or will you lead us into a prosperous future?

    Brown at 82% on intrade.

If the current politicians can’t represent us, we will find people who can.

Life moves fast in the Internet Age.

I’d love to give President Obama time to lick his wounds.

But we need taxpayer approval of spending, like a year ago.

President Obama, will you join forces with the American people?

Hopefully, today’s election will show Obama and friends that the American People are not going to sit on their hands. Today is the first day of taking our great Country back! Hooray for the American Patriots, Hooray for the Tea Party! Beware to those politicians who do not put American first, elections are coming. It is payback time!

A win for Brown today is a win for all American Patriots.

I am in sw Florida now., although a resident of Massachusetts. I have worked for Scott Brown from the beginning and my husband and I have proudly voted by absentee ballots for a great American. Where can we celebrate tonight with other conservatives in the Naples / Marco Island area when Scott Brown is elected as our new Massachusetts
    senator.

With any luck, President Obama will soon be on our side.

The White House is no sanctuary from the people.

The people will simply rise up and claim the House of Representatives.

It could have been done sooner, except that many people were satisfied.

Taxpayer approval of spending is easy as pie. Voters can choose to approve or disapprove all spending by Congress, for up to two years. They can change this default choice at any time, and they can override their selection for individual votes.

To qualify as a taxpayer, you need to have paid at least $200 in taxes last year. This could be payroll or federal income taxes. This number is not set in stone, and people will have different opinions about it.

America was founded on individual freedom and local government no more than one day’s horseback ride from the governed. The 19th century Democrats defended state’s rights. The civil war cost us local government. Laws affecting behavior rose to the Federal government, far from the one-day horseback distance rule that worked so well. Vigilante movements in the West and South were remnants of local home rule, citizens concerned with the way they were governed and took action to right the wrongs. The Tea Party Movement is an example of citizen participation against governing elite centered far from people. 20th century Democrats declared Tea Parties vigilante mobs. I have no idea if this is true or not - I’ve read different things in different places. But here it is.

Let’s see, the Tea Party Patriots want the outrageous out-of-control spending to stop in DC
    ———————
I am simply astonished at the influence the Tea Party is having.

Contesting Senate seats - doesn’t get much higher than that.

    It’s interesting to hear Eric’s in-person account.

Horserace is fun and exciting - for a time.

But ultimately, it takes reasonable law to create a prosperous society.

I don’t want to steal the spotlight from Eric. But the ultimate solutions are taxpayer approval of spending (TA) and instant runoff voting (IRV).

And I’m sure there are some young folk who would like seed money for new candidates. I’d like to help more with that, but my hands are full with TA and IRV.

Dear Tea Party Patriots: Keep up the good work. I know you will do your best to get the vote out.
It is comical to hear that the Democrats claim that Brown is in bed with the Tea Party group. Let’s see, the Tea Party Patriots want the outrageous out-of-control spending to stop in DC; Brown wants the spending in DC to stop, which includes Obamacare; and Coakley supports Obamacare and the democrats spending agenda.

“You can’t fix stupid, but you can vote them on Tuesday.”
