Elaine Barnett is organizing April 15 Tea Party events in West Virginia.
This is the sixth in our series of e-interviews with local Tax Day Tea Party organizers. You’ll also enjoy the interviews I’m posting on the weekend.
Elaine, when did you decide to get involved?
As soon as I knew anything about “tea parties” I wanted to participate. No one was doing it locally, so I took the bull by the horns. I’ve never been active in politics in my life. As a child of the ‘60s I’ve never protested. I’m so mad I could bite nails. We have to take our government to task and get them straightened out or kick them out.
Any thoughts you’d like to share with people who are thinking about organizing a Tea Party?
Just do it.
Have you done anything like this before?
Never have I ever done anything like this.
What’s at stake in the Tea Party movement?
Our nation is at risk. It is about to become something we have not experienced here.
Thank you!
Any thing in the Clarksburg/Buckhannon/Weston area yet?
