Obama Has the USA on a Fast Track Towards Socialism

Obama wants to take from “the rich” and give to the poor. But who are “the rich”? And by what right can Obama take what does not belong to him?

Well, he is being granted that right by our elected representatives in Congress who have swiftly and eagerly pushed through an erroneously named “stimulus” bill. It should more aptly be named the “spendulus” bill. This bill is full of earmarks being called “special projects”. Many of us have written or called our congressmen and women to express our disagreement with this spending and taxation, but to no avail. The bill was rushed through the House of Representatives literally overnight with no time for those voting to even be able to read what was in the bill (even though Obama promised during this campaign that all bills would be posted to the government website for the public to see for at least 5 days before any vote would be taken)

Our congressmen and women are not listening to the voices of the people in this country. We need to get their attention! How, you say? It won’t be easy but the more people who help, the more we will accomplish.

We need to find out who of our friends, families, and fellow workers agree with those of us who are fed up with being ignored. We need to band together and take action.

The National Tax Day Tea Party is one way we can do it. Every one of you has a talent or an ability to help with this endeavor. Please offer to help in some way. I am helping in a small way by typing words on a computer keyboard, which is something I love to do anyway. What are you good at? Artwork?—we will need posters. Music?—some tea parties held last week had the added power of music. Public speaking? Coaching? Maybe you could organize some snacks for that day. If we combine our efforts, we can bring about change. Let’s do it!

From Jonah Goldberg:

“The problem with socialism,” Margaret Thatcher once said, “is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.” What Obama is proposing isn’t socialism — yet — but it runs into the same problem. You could take all of the money made by the richest one percent in this country and it wouldn’t come close to covering government’s expenses — even if those rich people for some reason kept working.

Thanks for the comment Alin. We need to remind our leaders that if they repeat the mistakes of history, the consequences will be the same or worse.

Love the quote from Thatcher. Why is it that people are unwilling to look at history and avoid making the same mistakes that previous generations have made? There seems to be a belief that our leaders can somehow effect “change” that is different from the failures of the past.
