  3. Hi, I’m having a TEA Party on April 15th, which is fast approaching. I signed up a few days ago and am running out of time. I would love to get a press template.
Can you help with that - and quickly? Thanks so much.

  4. I hope the FBI attends every rally and everyone is audited by the IRS. You are all paid up, right? They aren’t unamerican activities, this call for overthrowing the govt, under the Patriot Act are they? Gosh I certainly hope not.

  6. To all americans dedicated to defending our constitution, we must take a stand before we lose our freedoms forever! Emotions are riding high now and get stronger every passing day. We absolutely need to take advantage of these passions and direct them to strengthing our cause, organize organize and more organize. The bigger the better and just maybe the main stream media can’t deny us exposure.

    Good Luck!

  7. During these tough times in our country let’s be reminded of these wise words.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away men’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
    - Abraham Lincoln
I will be passing these words out @ the Kalamazoo Tax Day Tea Party - hope to see you there!!! God Bless our country!

  9. We need to have the courage to stand up for what is right like he did.

    ABE

Tall of limb and thin of flesh
His face was old, his humor fresh
An eloquent voice for justice fair
    Many jurors heard his flair

    Loyal Whig his party needed
    Integrity not gone unheeded
His country called, the People’s choice
Answered proud and firm of voice

    Freedom’s hope for Union saved
    Keeping more from being enslaved
    Hoping Southern hearts would yield
So armies would not take the field

    Families being torn asunder
    By musketball and cannon thunder
Made a heavy heart to bear
For the man who really cared

Cared for Blue and cared for Gray
    Charity and love his way
Though evil fought with all its might
He stood for what he thought was right

Stuck down by deeds so full of hate
Martyred for a cause so great
Yet all survived those tragic days
The Union lives and Freedom stays

Courage so fine is rare today
With morals and ethics in decay
From his example we could learn
That public trust must still be earned

He showed us how in word and deed
It lies with us to now take heed
And walk the footsteps if we can
Of a great and honest man.

  10. Anyone know if there will scheduled speakers and if so who…?

Also estimates over the size of the crowd or events. I’m considering driving from the midwest. If this is a big, well organized event I’ll make the drive. If not, I’ll stick to a local event.

I’d also conrtibute money to bring Daniel Hannan over to speak.

Hannan’s comments underscore the fact that massive govt expenditures are a global problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94lW6Y4tBXs

How great it would be to have a Brit speak at the Tea Party redux.

  11. Jule Sloan - Wasn’t Lincoln actually. These great lines:

    1. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
    2. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong
    3. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
    4. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
    5. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence.
    6. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
    7. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
    8. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
    9. You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
10 You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they will not do for themselves.

were the additions of William J. H. Boetcker, a Presbyterian minister to something Lincoln said. Always check out your facts so we don’t misrepresent ourselves: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/l/lincoln-quotes.htm. I agree with each and every line however!!!

  47. You guys are in a panic, but I am not. Yes, Obama is an American citizen and yes we have his citizenship.

Anyway the economy is today what it was in the 80s and also similar to after the Savings and loan scandal.

Obama wrote a very good book. One of the things he points out is that America will not ever fall within our lifetimes. At the end of the day we have a vast supply of oil, coal, iron and other metals as well as fertile land and clean water and the land isn’t polluted.

When 1.6 billion people don’t have clean water and people mistake New York’s water for bottled water you got to come to grips with the fact that you’re like way up there.
    ~

times are changing even Cuba isn’t as evil as it once was. Cuba has a better infant fertility rate then the USA. Cuba wants to help USA to make a mends to what they’ve done. Japan was the same way after WWII even though we used a nuclear weapon on them.

South Korea forgave Japan and are allies even though Japan raped their women. Can a small thing like a Cuban missile Crisis (small when compared to raping and pillaging the land and big boy and little boy) turn into a positive outcome? Why not? Why make enemies? why not bridge on division? They’re trying to become a democracy as well since you have to have some form of election to remain a part of the United Nations and you have to provide a certain degree of health care to your citizens. Health care in Cuba is great! Times are a changing.

I mean you can live in the past or you can move on. No one is going to push you forward.

You know Reagan even admitted that Middle Eastern Politics make no damn sense and we should stay out of it. Obama says we’re not at war with Islam and he himself has some Muslim roots.

Conservatives like holy wars… America doesn’t that’s why we have a liberal. Democrats used to have to get a southerner candidate in order to get elected like Bill Clinton.

A lot of southern folks identify with Bill Clinton so every time Republicans bashed Clinton they bashed a part of their own base. Southern states always voted Republican and now they vote blue????

Another reason Obama got elected was because in 2000 Florida ignored the Black vote and Bush won a narrow victory. Bush was the only President to get egged on inaugeration.

From the beginning people just didn’t identify with Bush. He’s always on vacation, he’s not from Texas but talks with an accent, and mission accomplished day was just bad… especially to families who had their sons die in Iraq on that day. When 9/11 victims don’t want to go war it’s a sign that you shouldn’t go to war.

But our own politics are crazy. Democrats and Republicans are very different. It’s hard to choose sometimes especially if you’re undecided because you like some of what each candidate has to offer. But a lot of people liked Obama. I went to a killswitch engage show (heavy metal) and after the show people were like don’t forget to vote for Obama. Phillipino lady at the nursing home like OBAMA!!!! when I visited my grand father.

I mean economic issues are really tough to navigate politically. Most Americans don’t have a degree in Economics or Statistics or Political Science or Foreign Policy. Even our own economists disagree so how can you ask everyday Americans to figure out what works and what doesn’t work?

Keynesian thought is what Obama is trying to refer to when he talks about his economic policy since most Americans have an idea of how that works because they ready about FDR at one point in history class (one of our best Presidents among George Washington and Ab Lincoln). I mean one can say that FDR was dealing with a depression and dust bowls so Keynesian thought may not apply because today’s world is completely different. One can argue that WWII alone brought us out of a depression. One can say that FDR was a socialist since he collected the countries gold and ended the gold standard and redistributed that wealth.

Obama is a smart guy, but not beyond fathom. He’s probably trying to do what FDR did, but in today’s environment to see if he can have the same outcome. Why not let the guy give it a shot? The country has tried the Republican way and look at the mess we are in.

  48. What world are you living in? Wake up and smell the roses, there’s something rotten in Demark. This country is being taken away from us piece by piece. Not just by the Democrats but both parties. We have lost our say in the way things run. I want my country back. Less government not more. If we don’t stop this now it will be to late for our children. A friend told me that Obama is president because he was choosen by God. I tend to agree. Obama is exactly what we deserve at this time. We have turned so far away from God that He did give us Obama. I just hope it’s not to late to turn back.

  56. Interestingly, It’s only un-American when those of us finally speak out demanding that our rights to life, liberty and all those things our ancestors died for, be the priority of our government…..remember, it’s “We, the people..” The goal is not the overthrow of the government…it is to get them to the realization that they are elected by US to preserve and defend our constitution as it reads today. It appears they, and you, have forgotten that. I suggest you get and read a good history book.

  58. Great idea — piss poor execution.

The vast majority of people you are attempting to attract to these events work for a living which generally means five days a week and 8 hours a day, contrary to the rent-a-mobs at other national news events. Having an event like this during the work day will leave you only 1 of 2 options, regarding the results of the tea parties covered by the press:

“Just think how many more would have participated if it had not been conducted on a weekday, during working hours” or “The participation was not what we had hoped for, but it was a good start”. Either way, your impact will be dramatically diluted and your creditability badly damaged.

I believe that this was good concept that was poorly planned and executed by national event organizers. I recognize that the weekend before tax day is Easter, but having this event either 2 weekends before April 15th or the weekend after would seem to allow significantly increased participation. Specifically, many of the states only have a small number of cities sponsoring these events, which means several hours of travel for the vast majority of people who do not live in those cities to get there and participate. Having the event on a weekday means that those people will likely need to take the entire day off of work to participate.

Is there anyone on your staff that works and therefore has the ability to communicate what is going on in the real world of US taxpayer’s daily lives?

  70. April 15th isn’t about the media. Let the mainstream media continue to show its stripes by deliberately ignoring this. If we get the government under control then the free market will take care of the media.

The message needs to get to our “unrepresenting representatives”. THAT is what this is all about. Getting THEM the message that we are fed up and want a return to basics - the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They don’t see us as individuals, just numbers in election polls. The Tea Parties can change that but only if everyone makes the effort to get out there.

  71. Dr. David I completely agree with you that it will not be easy for many people to get to a tea party. As an OD you have many people counting on you to be at work that day I am sure. That goes for a lot of folks all over the country. My wife and I have also struggled with this. The truth is we are fighting that just as much as the unwise policies of this administration. Most people who are more conservative, and a lot of good Americans in general, have many things on their minds besides politics. We have jobs, families, work, etc. that keep us more than busy. The squeaky wheel gets the oil and we are not the squeaky wheels. We are the oilers. Conservative principles have not been at work in D.C. for years. Now we are seeing the results. We are fortunate to live in a country that is so blessed that we can be fighting three wars and sending people to space (and many other things) and still live such comfortable, carefree lives. Any type of dr. regardless the discipline is familiar with initiating a little discomfort for the greater good of the patient. Maybe re-arranging work schedules and family business is our discomfort for the act of saving our republic. Seems a small sacrifice comparitively speaking. There is no quick fix for our situation and I am sure there will be the need for many more rallies or protests or whatever in the near future. That is the easiest thing we are going to get to do. It only gets harder from here. In the meantime maybe you could encourage one of your employees or family members to go in your stead this time and catch the next one. Maybe even organize an event. There is a lot of work to be done before the 2010 elections but not more than we can do if we stay engaged. Good luck to you and God bless America.

I also wanted to mention that Obama in not running this country - the media is ( the media won the election not Obama). The next step is to make sure you vote when it comes time for your senator & representatives elelection ( VOTE THEM OUT) you want real change - get rid of those who have been sitting on there behinds doing absolutely NOTHING for this country only for themselves and their lobbying constituents. The only CHANGE Obama will bring to the American hardworking people is leaving them with nothing but CHANGE in their pockets!!!

  79. wow anyone who buys into how the media spun it- that the only reason people don’t like obama because of this petty shit like “born in another country” or “smokes” or “muslim” is completely conditioned. it is NOT about left or right, it’s about the system of control that’s bending over america and taking what they want.

  80. This is great… Lets give support and give this country back to our grandkids… Keep up the good fight… FairTax is the answer…

  81. Hi i was wondering if their was a tea party in Austin Texas? The Austin people would love to be part of such a grate movement. I would think that Austin have the largest tea party in the USA if it got its name out over their. This is my first time hearing about the tea party, i saw some report on the news… and did some research. So could some one point me to the right direction to get involved with the tea party moment?

  82. Your a real idiot. People like you will destroy the country if left alone just like Obama is doing now.

  83. Photo gallery from the Huntsville, AL tea party is now posted on al.com - approx. 2500 attended the rally. Web address for the photo gallery is:

  84. Good grief “james ornellas” what are you going on about? Your grammar is impossible to follow not to mention your rambling…

“infant fertility”???? You mean infant mortality?
“South Korea forgave Japan” What about North Korea?
“Conservatives like Holy Wars”??? What are we followers of Joan d’Arc?
“It’s hard to choose sometimes especially if you’re undecided ”

Ok, I stopped reading. You are not aiding your position.

  87. The momentum of this movement should not be allowed to slow and stop. When is the march into Washington DC planned?

  88. RE: Founding Father.
So sad. You’ve got it all wrong. We advocate the preservation and defense of our God given liberty, not “over throwing” the government. When government attempts to subvert or attenuate that liberty we must, as patriots, react with vigor and a loud shout of “Hell No”!

  89. All the above comments, good & bad are of little use. The only thing that will get the politicians attention in for us voters to finially get together & oust them out of office. They are there to represent their voters. For the past serveral Presidential elections the trend has been to be pupits for their Party. It is time they be brought back to the represation of their voters. Amen & Amen

  91. who is calling for the overthrowing of the governement? How is it that you have interpreted this movement as a desire to overthrow the government? And I can assure you that the people in these groups are law abiding citizens.. pay their taxes.. and don’t want to see our tax dollars - all of our tax dollars.. squandered. get with the program. This is not about lef or right.. it’s about freedom and responsible government.

Read the constitution and I highly recommend you learn about our history before you make such scewed judgement calls on patriotic people who want to voice their concerns about the biggest spending bill in American HIstory that will likely bankrupt this country.

    don’t assume - learn.

  92. ok.. are you nuts or something? Anyone who would bring guns to a protest is not part of this movement. You’re either someone who requires immediate psychological treatment or you’re someone making this post to try to make us all look like a bunch of nuts.

    trust me. it’s not working.

  93. why did you post this untrue message? Were you attempting to get people not to go? I was there. There was nobody from Accorn. There WERE about 3000 patriots protesting big government. Stop posting these lies in an attempt to disrupt this movement. It won’t work and people can see right though you .

  94. What an awesome event we all had this past Wednesday. We helped to make history with the largest nationwide tax protest to ever happen. By the count of the Lakeland Police Department we had 3,000+ in attendance.
