Obama’s statement is obviously qualified, besides being taken completely out of context.
I didn’t vote for Obama, so don’t mistake me for a liberal here, but these are the facts:
First of all, John McCain said “The fundamentals of our economy are strong,” implying that all of the basic structures of the economy are sound top to bottom.
On the other hand, Obama said if we maintain focus on “all the fundamentally sound aspects of our economy,” meaning only those that are already working and not the economy top to bottom.
Mccain is a rich guy, period. He has committed financial crimes. And then, he turns around and uses his status as a veteran to shield blows. For example, when he brought it up his vet-status at the end of the first presidential debate to emphasize foreign policy, because he had nothing to say in defense of his comments about the “fundamentals” 10 days earlier.
