Memo to Media: It’s bigger than Obama

Please tell me I’m not the only one that’s irritated with the SeacoastOnline.com’s headline of “Portsmouth Tea Co. backs anti-Obama ‘Tea Party’”. For the record, we’re pro-liberty, pro-capitalism, hardworking taxpayers sick to death of government bureaucracy wealth-redistribution BS. This is WAY bigger than just Barack Obama, though he’s definitely on our radar.

The actual article was quality print that covered the Portsmouth Tea Company’s generous donation of 70 lbs of tea to the Tax Day Tea Party movement.

Marshall Malone, owner of Portsmouth Tea Co, offered this gem:

“I propose a $20,000 tax credit to every employer who hires a full-time position. It’s less costly and if I have a $20,000 tax credit for every person I hire you’d see a decrease instantly in the unemployment rate.”

Malone said he would immediately hire two full-time staff members because he would be breaking even.

“Those two employees pay taxes on their income,” he said, “but are also putting it into the economy and the pie would grow. Instead of taxing me and redistributing money to things that do not matter to me or to people who are not working for their money.”

Is Geithner still looking for a few good deputies? Ok, ok, I know… Mr. Malone probably woudn’t fit in. He probably actually pays his taxes.
